My wife and I stayed at the Alameda Palace for 3 nights last week, as part of a 5-city tour of north-western Spain. The room we stayed in proved to be exceedingly opulent, styled in sumptuous Spanish baroque fashion. Indeed, the rest of the hotel was furnished in a similarly impressive style. The only disappointments during our stay were connected with the breakfasts, which were mediocre to stay the least, and certainly lacking in choice. Otherwise, everything was fine, and the staff were pleasant and efficient. All in all, this was a 5-star hotel with a 3 or 4 star standard breakfast provision. The hotel is conveniently located in the centre of the city of Salamanca, near to the Plaza Mayor, and it's certainly worth visiting.
