Tilajari Hotel Resort

Stopped here for Arenal and La Fortuna tours. This is another huge property, surrounding areas and grounds are well kept, they are many groups of lodges. I stayed in 600s facing the river, which was less appealing. My room, bathroom and space were adequate. The bed was okay. There is AC which was a plus. Outside has two chairs. In the evenings, cicadas started to chirp. But by 8pm, it was okay. They are few paths to walk, many fruit trees. Lots of colourful birds, of course you can hear the howler monkeys in the distance. The hotel is abt 45-1hr to Arenal and abt 40 min to La Fortuna town. You will past many thermal pools on the way to the town. Breakfast time was the best, they would put fruits outside of the restaurant and the birds would come, quite amazing to get photos. All the meals I had were good, they presented the dishes very nice and tempting. They had very fresh tropical fruit juices and fruits. They had many choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I also had menu item, which was okay. If travelling with a tour group, they would reserved tables for each group. Part of my tour package, included a river rafting and tractor ride. The river rafting was amazing and fun adventure and highlight for me. During the river rafting, we stopped for a short break and had delicious snacks at CR homestead. Which was truly a good experience. Shout out to Pedro and his hardworking crew who did all the paddling and manned the rafts, thank you. The tractor ride was a delightful and fun tour, be prepare for a “CR massage”. This tour takes you to the sister property to do a forest tour which was few mins away, and causing honking on the road. While there, you would see lots of cows, lucky to see sabanero in action. Overall my stay was good, all the staff were friendly and helpful. Pedro and his crew were amazing, you will see them around the ground.

Staying here was a wonderful experience. The setting, the food, the staff-- all were excellent. I can't say enough about the reception desk and the waitstaff in the restaurant. Each room opened onto a lovely vista, and so many birds visited the feeders as we sat at our meals. I wish we had time to stay longer in this idyllic place!

Hotel was amazing and their staff very accommodating Bryan went the extra mile to make sure we had everything we needed it. I will definitely be back and totally recommend, love the location and how clean everything was, the distance from San Jose is not bad at all

The staff were so friendly and helpful! The grounds were beautiful. So many birds! The restaurant had great food! The beds were comfy! It was beautiful! Hot tub and pool was awesome. Nice and quiet, very serene on the river. Accommodations were perfect.

The Tilijari Hotel was the perfect place to call home base while we explored the La Fortuna area. Rather than staying in La Fortuna itself (which is pretty touristy and crowded), we opted to stay nearby and we're so glad we did. The location is peaceful and expansive. It's located right next to a river where we watched wildlife play in the trees (monkeys and iguanas). The food was good and service was friendly. The breakfast buffet was yummy! I stayed in the 700 building which, I believe, is the newest building in the hotel complex. My room was large and well appointed with a private balcony that overlooked the beautiful hotel grounds. I was at the hotel for a business trip and they were very accommodating to my needs in that area--I needed some copies made and had some printing jobs as well. The staff is welcoming and very helpful. The pool is huge and a very welcome respite in the heat of the day. Overall a wonderful experience!

I just read through the reviews and while some are glowing, many others said the same thing I am about to. We were on an all inclusive pickleball getaway and were terribly disappointed. The food was terrible. For 7 nights, they served the same thing. One afternoon they even gave us the leftover fish from the night before. I see many reviews about this with comments that they will work on variety, but they certainly have not. We're not picky eaters. Even having yogurt and granola for breakfast and good bread with peanut butter and jelly for lunch would have been great. The pickleball courts are covered since it rains a lot, but they are temporary nets and there is limited ventilation and barely enough light to see to play. The rooms are terribly dated. Old sheets and very poor lighting. I hate to give negative reviews, but I also believe in being truthful.

The staff was excellent and the beds were extremely comfortable! I was here for a pickleball getaway and everyone at Tilahari made sure our needs were met… and then some! My only comment is that the buffet for our all inclusive was the same every day with just different prep styles. It would have been fun to be able to taste more of the cuisine besides beans and rice, papaya, pineapple, and watermelon. More veggies please!!!

Terrible food - given that you’re in the heart of Costa Rica’s tourist area it’s hard to imagine a more boring & tasteless breakfast! Straight from Walmart…. Given how delicious Costa Rican food is, it’s difficult to serve such bland & horrible food. And disgusting coffee - nice resort otherwise

A very nice hotel, eco lodge, the staff is professional and helpful, also the rooms are big (suite building 700) and super neat, the park is full of beautiful birds and magic trees. A dream place for nature lovers. we also had a chance to eat at the restaurant and the food was excellent.
