Bancal Hotel and Spa

We visiting the bancal in October 2024. The hotel is very modern and clean , Check in took longer than expected there were 2 more couples in front of us with 2 reception staff and we checked in online to make things easier before we left but this still took 30 mins and after a 17 hr day I wasn’t best pleased . Rooms Very clean spacious beds very comfortable toileting maybe an issue for some as Altho glass is tinted you can still see silhouettes of what business you are doing . Coffee and tea sachets not replaced unless you ask a cleaner daily and no milk.. The balcony was also very spacious with a lovely view Food We went half board and found the food to be very good plenty of choice both breakfast and even meal although maybe a little warmer would be better. Staff Friendly helpful some do struggle with English at times but we are in a Spanish country so I guess we should be better at there language Water issues You receive a small glass water bottle in your room which you take down to refill at breakfast all other water is to be paid for Pools Lovely very quiet Accessibility The hotel is on a hillside although there are lifts you still have a few flights to climb on curtain routes Entertainment Not the best very few and when there was there was only a handful of people to watch not sure where everyone went on a evening , there are pool tables and a table tennis table if you like that thing Shop Lovely little shop was currently being stocked but could do with tea coffee water

We have just returned from a week at this wonderful peaceful hotel, although this may change as the hotel becomes more popular. The hotel and rooms were spotlessly clean, as would be expected of a new hotel. Rooms were very spacious and had great views of the sea. The hotel has lots of nice areas to sit, each area having pools and bars serving snacks or food during the day, which was of good quality and inexpensive. At breakfast and dinner there was a great choice, the only improvement could be a better choice of non-alcoholic drinks and coffee in the restaurant in the evening. The Staff were all great, with a shout out to Lizzy who was very knowledgeable about places to visit and getting around the island. Also Pryia who entertained us with her knowledge of the prickly Pears! We hired a car for 2 days, which I think is the best way to see the island. The majority of roads are great and the cost of hire was reasonable. A couple of points which some may find annoying: Firstly the hotel is not an easy walking distance from the town if you are not fit, and the bus service from the hotel is not great. Secondly, the weather was great while we were there, which meant we drank a lot of water. However, as the tap water is not drinkable we tried to keep the glass bottles provided topped up. This was a challenge, as other than at breakfast the hotel bars were the only place to fill up and they wanted to charge 2 Euros for this. We would advise to buy water and take it to the hotel, which goes against the eco policy of the hotel which I assume is to cut down on the use of plastics. The hotel need to overcome this by providing free drinking water when requested, and if at the pool this could be in the form of a reusable plastic glasses which they use for alcoholic drinks when by the pool. We hope that the water situation improves before our next visit, which we hope will be next year.

We have just returned from an 11 night stay at the beautiful Bancal hotel. The hotel is ultra modern with a feeling of "Grand Designs" about it. It is cleverly integrated into the hillside above San Sebastien and looks impressive as you arrive. We were greeted by very friendly and professional reception staff who soon had us on our way to our room. We had booked in online to save time and it is well worth doing. Our room was spacious and very comfortable with everything we needed. Towels, bedding and fittings are all of a very high standard as are the toiletries. The hotel has a very green and environmentally friendly agenda. There are lots of lighting options in the room for comfort and a large satellite TV with English channels. Outside we had a small patio which we used every day. All rooms have sea views and we could watch the sun rise over Mount Teide. We used the buffet restaurant for breakfast and dinner each day and the food was excellent with good choices and constant replenishment throughout service. There's a live cooking station at both meals so you have extra choices of meat and fish. We were never disappointed! Drink prices were reasonable. The dining room is nicely laid out so you have plenty of space around you whilst eating which is really good ..In fact the whole hotel has a feeling of spaciousness and calm in every area. The pools are superb and watched over constantly by the young guards. Infinity pools are really impressive. Every member of staff we encountered in all areas was kind friendly and helpful even though we spoke very little Spanish! When we needed some help with a medical problem, reception were quick to point us in the right direction and order transport so thank you all. The hotel initially looks a little isolated but it really isn't. There is a bus stop right outside and it costs 1Euro to get to the capital by bus (or 10Euro by taxi) so don't be put off by that. One improvement I would suggest would be to have more drinking water stations around the hotel, especially for out of hours use. We had to plan our water usage ahead which shouldn't be necessary. Thank you Bancal, we hope to return and see you again one day.

Outstanding in every respect. The Bancal Hotel & Spa is as oasis of peace. The pools are amazing, with 2 infinity pools, 2 children’s pool and a large pool. There’s also a spa with a pool, sauna and other features. The food was very good, with salads and breakfast specials served in small single portion dishes, a good selection of salad, charcuterie, cheese and fruit, a range of pasta, rice, meat, fish and other hot options and amazing desserts. The hotel put on live music in the bar most nights. There’s also a team offering activities for children and adults. A big ‘thank you’ from me for the stretch, meditation, functional fitness and other classes. The hotel has an emphasis on sustainability, there’s no use of single use plastic, water is recycled and there are extensive areas of solar panel. The toiletries are environmentally friendly and even the key cards are wooden and not plastic. The hotel is growing its own herbs. It makes good use of local produce and will increase this in the future. The hotel itself was built on the foundations of a previous, unfinished building and makes extensive use of local materials to reflect traditional architecture. What could be better? It would be good to see more local staff as the team were very international. Training apprentices would offer employment and skills to local people. It would be nice to have electric bicycles on offer as a sustainable form of transport alongside the charging points for electric vehicles. The advertising focuses on yoga but this was not offered at the time of my visit. The Bancal is a new hotel, some some teething problems were to be expected. These were minor and I thoroughly enjoyed my time at The Bancal.

The architecture is amazing; the creators put a lot of thoughts into this project. Amazing landscape and views; spectacular spa; great pools; rooms are very roomy with great balconies. Staff is amazing! The ferry makes it very easy to get there from Tenerife.

I so much wanted to love the Bancal Hotel and Spa. I arrived yesterday. First impressions were great. Architecturally the hotel is superb, the pools amazing, the atmosphere calm and relaxing. Food at dinner was good, although the choice was somewhat limited due to low guest numbers. I appreciate the use of local resources and sustainable ethos of the hotel, although I have concerns about their use of water, particularly for the swimming pools. I appreciate that things may not go smoothly during the first few weeks of opening. However, this morning has been a nightmare. I choose the hotel partly because an activities programme was advertised, in particular yoga, with a yoga studio on site. The guide on screen in my room stated that there would be a Pilates class at 9.30. At breakfast, I noticed that the class was no longer listed. I asked at reception and they told me to go and ask at the spa, which they said opened at 9.00. At 9.20 I went to the spa. It’s closed until 10. I walked around the area and saw what looked like like a gym studio on the lower floor. I got in the elevator to go down to it. The elevator doors closed, lights went off and I was stuck in the darkness for a few minutes. To say I’m upset and shaken would be an understatement. I’m currently in tears and thinking of finding a different hotel.

Vivo en Tenerife y quería desconectar y celebrar mi aniversario de bodas sin irme lejos. Elegimos Bancal Hotel porque había tenido muy buenas referencias y la realidad superó las expectativas. Me encuentro un hotel con un diseño arquitectónico de primer nivel, tanto en el interior como en los exteriores. El gusto de la decoración, exquisito. Los jardines, distribuidos en bancales (como el nombre del hotel),con un colorido increíble. Tiene 5 piscinas distribuidas por los diferentes bancales con una vista a la isla de Tenerife y su Teide que corta el hipo. El trato que recibimos fue inmejorable, siempre pendientes de que todo estuviera a nuestro gusto. La oferta gastronómica me llamó la atención. No sólo por la variedad tan bien elegida, sino porque además, se ve que tienen la filosofía de productos kilómetro cero. No en vano tienen huertos en medio del hotel. Hacía tiempo que no probaba verdura con verdadero sabor a verdura. Había muchas referencias de vinos de la Gomera y de Canarias. Uno de los días cenamos en el Larrife un menú degustación que nos encantó. Sin duda volveremos!

Modernste Anlage! Optisch top integriert in die Landschaft. Sauber, gepflegt und stilvoll eingerichtet. Sehr gute Küche, immer frisch und abwechslungsreich. Uns störte nur, dass unsere angebliche Meersicht „zubepflanzt“ war. (siehe Foto) Da die Anlage noch sehr neu ist, ist vermutlich der Geschirrspüler noch nicht top eingestellt. Teller und vor allem Müesli/Suppen-Schalen waren die meisten nicht richtig sauber. Die Sauna und ein Sprudelbad sollten inklusive sein.

Una estancia estupenda, también nos tocaron unos días espectaculares 🤩el hotel está a estrenar prácticamente, todo super limpio, la atención de 15, la piscina un lujo para la vista y el espíritu. Todo tranquilidad, paz y armonía aunque siempre hay algún cliente molestoso con el móvil que se olvida de hablar bajo. A este sitio se va a desconectar, si no mejor busca otro lugar. El hotel está apartado del mundanal ruido (uno de sus encantos ) y si quieres pasear de noche solo está alumbrado la zona del hotel o coges el coche y bajas a la Villa Los desayunos y cenas muy variados y equilibrados, para todas las opciones. Como no puede ser todo perfecto😊 destacaría como negativo ,el concepto de baño integrado en habitación ,será muy moderno pero poco práctico, pues es molestia para el que lo quiere usar y el que quiere dormir. Entramos el lunes y gastamos la botella de agua que ponen de cortesía, el jueves nos fuimos y la botella vacia seguía en el mismo lugar, creo que esos pequeños detalles deberían pulirse en un hotel de esta categoría. Sin duda lo recomiendo y ya estoy pensando en la próxima escapada.
