My partner and I checked out of Safragell Ibiza just this morning, unfortunately it was an incredibly disappointing stay at a beautifully located, clean hotel which we had high hopes for. To start with- the appalling lack of service and major lack of staff! Altogether we saw 3 staff on the entire property, and we very rarely even saw 1 or 2 on the property at anytime! During our 4 night stay we had to call reception 3 times if not more at anytime to contact them for any reason, everyday. This includes simply trying to order a taxi or a coffee to the room (a cup of coffee would take 45+ minutes to reach us). My flight was this morning and I was due to leave the hotel at 7:30am- after several unanswered calls to reception to ask for help with my luggage I finally went there myself just to see every single door locked, lights off and no one in sight! Not one staff, not at reception, the kitchen, anywhere! The gravel and stairs at the hotel made it absolutely impossible for me to bring my luggage down myself. I called a taxi and the kind taxi driver offered to help me move my luggage from the room, at which point 1 staff turned up and still took the taxi driver to help her. If we wanted an airbnb we could’ve rented a beautiful apartment for a fraction of what we paid and also had no service there. But at least that would have been our choice. We chose to stay at Safragell as they apllaud themselves as a hotel with high end service for 5* star prices but deliver 2* service, or less. Moving on to the second issue- we had booked one a suite for €1200 a night which was accompanied by its own private pool. We were quick to learn that we had absolutely no access to this ‘private pool’ as the lawn surrounding it was completely infested with wasp nests and wasps (I tried to attach a video to this review but unfortunately TA only allows me to upload photos, the photo I have is a screen shot of the video that doesn't show a fraction of the wasps as its blurs them in with the grass.. but if anyone would like the video they can have it). Our concerns were dismissed for days as we got told ‘this is nature’- if the hotel prioritises ‘nature’ over their income then they shouldn’t miss-sell a suite that has a completely unusable pool as one that actually comes with a pool that is SAFE to use! We were happy to pay for the room but communicated that it was completely unfair to charge for the pool due to the situation, we were only met with rudeness and brushed off. My partner was stung by the wasps 3 times around the lawn area and when he expressed his alarm about this situation, he was responded to by a member of staff who threatened to call to the police if he raised his voice whilst talking. And then.. instead of professionally removing the nests, and after 3 nights (and less than 24 hours before we were due to check out) the staff decided to spray the pool and the lawn with a horrendously scented chemical spray- so much for prioritising ‘nature’!! We
