Kalestesia Suites

What an amazing experience. We really enjoyed our stay there. We felt like it was our home. From the check in we were greeted by the host Teo, he really took care of us and made us feel like he was a friend we havent seen for years. Then, in the evening we enjoyed the hotels restaurant and my god, amazing food. We tried the shrimps, kalamri and the chicken al acreme. It was delicious. Miss Anna (the cook) is one of the best! We really had an amazing experience there. I strongly recommend you going there if you are looking for a nice get away. One upside though. There was an eldery couple next to our room that was complaining about everything. My opinion is that he was mad that england lost the euro final. He was always complaining about the hotel being far from the capital fira. But he knew where he booked, he knew that it eas far from there. I dont really know why he was mad about everything. He didnt let us even enjoy our veranda at night. In other words. We really recommend this place to everyone who want to enjoy their time there. Thank you to everyone.

Excellent accommodation, away from the crowds. We found it a great way to relax and enjoy Santorini by renting a car and basing ourselves away from crowded Oia and Fira. We could drive there (or take a taxi, if necessary). and then escape again. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Pool was excellent. Views spectacular, to both sides of the peninsula. And the staff were so helpful and obliging, providing advice about beaches, restaurants, airport/ferry transfers etc. Highly recommended.

Not for us...booked and paid for three nights stayed for one. Positives the views - fabulous! most of the staff (except the male receptionist/waiter who was most unsympathetic to our situation). the welcoming owner and his son the warm and informative welcome the very lovely village however due to significant negatives the hotel was not for us. Negatives After travelling the Cyclades Islands for 3 weeks we decided to book a quintessential romantic Santorini white and blue villa style hotel for our last three days. The photos of the hotel were exactly what we wanted. However our room was seperate from the hotel in a new annex and not the pretty white washed accommodation. We were transported by car as it was down a quite steep hill, away from the main hotel. Our superior suite was a terracotta maisonette with a pathway running right in front of the window, which was used regularly by guests and staff, allowing absolutely no privacy for the planned 'romantic' last three days of our wonderful Greek holiday. Hugely disappointing. I returned to reception and spoke to a quite unhelpful and unsympathetic guy covering reception about a move to somewhere with more privacy or perhaps a partial refund. He gave a firm no - explaining it was a superior suite - the hotel had provided what we requested. I explained about the lack of privacy but to no avail so we decided to try to relax and go for lunch. The food at the pool was very slow, too slow and the quality was poor. Perhaps we've been spoilt travelling the islands but the food quality here was nothing like what we'd experienced to date, including at other pool bars. Yes, as the helpful lady explained, it was pool snacks but in the evening the restaurant food wasn't good quality either. Prawn saganaki is my favourite Greek dish but not at this resturant! The final straw was the noise during the night - very poor soundproofing - we could hear our neighbours' talking until 3am. We had very little sleep. Shattered, we stayed for breakfast (which was lovely) and left with nowhere else to stay. We wanted privacy, quiet rest and whitewashed Santorini but sadly didn't find it here. We'd go back to Akrotiri, it is a very peaceful and relaxing village, but not the Kalestesia Suites. Sadly, a costly mistake as the suite was not for us and we had to book alternative accommodation at our cost. Disappoint end to an amazing three weeks in Greece.

What an experience! Our favourite hotel so far in Santorini, child friendly. We were in the new part in the senior suite with jacuzzi. View from the room and the jacuzzi is unreal.Also the new part has a huge pool facing the caldera is amazing ! The sunset from the top of the old part of the hotel building is magical! The staff is so friendly and the manager Theo is unbelievably helpful and is there for you to arrange anything ( car rental, restaurant booking ) . We have never seen such a hard working hotel manager! Breakfast they deliver to the room, From the pool bar you can order food during the day and from 6/7 the restaurant is opens which offers unbelievably delicious food. 3 restaurants offer free pick up from the hotel , from them our favourite was Theofanis food experience- it is a must to try. Our modern, new room was cleaned daily and it was spotlessly clean. Overall it was a lifetime experience and we can not wait to return, would definitely choose this hotel again ❤️

We had such a great time, we did not want to go back. The staff are fantastic, they arranged our airport transfers, catamaran cruise, restaurant bookings and mini tour. They are really friendly and the customer service was outstanding. The views at the hotel are breath taking, you have the best views of caldera and the volcano. I would recommend not booking any tours privately - let the hotel arrange this for you, they can tailor make a tour to suit your preferences. You can also take a 15 min stroll to Akrotiri village from the Hotel. We also walked to Caldera beach, we like walking so was fine for us. I must say a big thank you to all the staff for making our stay amazing!!

The hotel is fabulous, the view is incredible, and the private jacuzzi is truly enjoyable. The accommodation is adorable and well-equipped. The staff is very friendly, and the breakfast is quite hearty and delicious. I highly recommend it, especially for the view, the pool, and the accommodation. You really feel like you're on vacation. And despite our very limited English, the staff was patient and attentive. Go for it, it's worth it! Thanks again, Kalesthesia ;)

Wow, just wow! The position of the hotel at the top of the mountain allows for some breath taking views of the caldera and rest of the island. Although in a quieter region of the island, this was just perfect for us for a relaxing stay and away from the busy tourist areas of Oia and Fira. The rooms are stunning with your own private jacuzzi and day bed- worth the extra cost! Breakfast each morning is more than enough with fresh fruit, Greek yoghurt, bread, meat and an omelette cooked to how you like it! Food is available at the pool bar which is a bit more cost than the restaurants in the local village but the portions are huge. Just a short scenic walk down into the local village where there are plenty of restaurants for dining out in the evening and a bit more of a stroll back up the hill but fine for the evening when it is cooler. We rented a quad bike for the day which was 55euro cash (65 if by card) and travelled to Fira which was only around 20 minutes away. Top tip: for the best location for seeing the beautiful sunsets, go to the lighthouse in Akrotiri (only around 10 mins away) - it’s a beautiful location where you can sit on the rocks and watch the sunset rather than the packed Oia version. The staff here are lovely and can’t help you enough. Theo and the team were great and able to offer advise on trips, renting cars etc Would recommend to anyone looking to come to Santorini for a quiet, relaxing holiday in a beautiful location.

We visited (2 couples) Kalestesia Suites on the 1st of August for 3 nights. Situated on the highest point of Akrotiri, Kalestesia Suites offers you breathtaking views of Santorini. Overall our stay was more than satisfying, beginning from the rooms (COMFORT SUITE WITH BALCONY & CALDEREA VIEW) staff, pool & breakfast. Mind you to rent a small car because of the narrow road leading to the hotel. There is an alternative if you don’t mind a little bit of dirt road and almost twice the distance compared to the other road, which people prefer. Extra thanks to the owner!!!!

There is not a lot that can be added to the previous reviews. The property is an exceptional place to stay and enjoy the serenity and stunning views. This was only made better by the the efforts of the staff who go out of their way to to make your stay perfect. There are two things that I would caution future visitors about. 1) You will in all likelyhood be renting a car to get around so, be aware that the road to the hotel can be challenging to a timid driver. It is steep and a mix of paved and gravel surface. At one point you must negotiate a turn between two buildings while going up hill with about 8" clearance on either side. The is a lot of evidence of vehicles failing to get through unscathed. If you, like our group are not bothered by the challenge, it can be quite an adventure. 2) The walking area around and entering the pool is finished with a surface that can be quite slick when wet and barefoot. I saw many guests slipping when entering and exiting the pool and somewhat less when walking around the pool area. I began wearing my "reef runner" beach shoes into the pool and felt much safer. Just be aware. This was our second trip to Santorini and our first to Kalestesia Suites. I would not hesitate to return to either.
