Hampton Inn Minneapolis/Shakopee

Had a pleasant stay for a series of nights at the hotel. The staff was friendly and the rooms were spacious and clean. Offerings included breakfast, which had an array of healthy to the decadent along with beverages, coffee and tea. During the day, coffee and tea remained available, which was a nice amenity. Overall a pleasant and comfortable stay.

I would've given this hotel a five out of five rating, but we had a bizarre checkin process. Earlier in the day I had called to ask for a room on a different floor than where pets were typically allowed (due to my wife's allergies). The lady on the phone was very accommodating and said that we'd be on the fourth floor. Upon arriving, explaining my earlier phone call, and waiting as the guy checking me in was looking over something for some time, I was told that we wouldn't be on the fourth floor and that we would have to be on the first floor, down the hallway to the very last room. My hope is that he did try to place us away from some pet rooms, but am not sure. It seemed a little odd that my previously-approved request had not been honored. When we walked into the guest room, there was a serious issue that needed immediate attention. Back to the front desk. Again, a long wait, now listening to the annoying front desk phone ring and ring and ring, which happens when someone is on hold. As the sales manager went by I mentioned our issue to her, so she and the maintenance guy went back to our first room, came back and agreed that the issue was there and the room was not usable. As we waited again, the original guy who checked us in seemed a little unsure of what to do and stated that we had made our reservations through *******. Upon showing the receipt on my phone, that the reservation was made through the Hilton Honors website and not through a third party company, we were then finally given a room on the fourth floor where we had been promised to be from the beginning. Not sure what happened, other than maybe the front desk guy pulled up the wrong reservation to begin with. A half of an hour into the process, we finally got to our room on the fourth floor. In the end, we were happy with our room and enjoyed our stay.

Upon arrival we were greeted kindly by staff (Morgan) and manager (Lucas). We were checked in promptly. Both went above and beyond our expectations. Morgan went out of her way to make sure all of our needs were met, even down to our specific coffee preferences. We ran into her in the lobby at the end of her shift the following morning and upon hearing we were looking for Starbucks she graciously made a special trip to Starbucks to pick up our order for us! Our room was clean and comfortable. Every encounter with any staff member was pleasant. We would highly recommend this place.

This is the second time I've stayed here in the past 3 months - the rooms were spacious and beds & pillows very comfortable. I love that they don't use the mini bottles of soaps, but have the large refillable bottles in the bathroom. I like that the towels are shelved above the sink instead of above the toilet (always makes me nervous that one will fall in!) Continental breakfast was very good, the desk employees were friendly & helpful, glad there was a pantry for snacks/food/beverages to purchase. Hotel was easy to find and get in and out of. Complimentary coffee bar was the icing on the cake. Absolutely will stay again!

We live just north of the Twin Cities but wanted to make a weekend of going down the renaissance festival. The building seems pretty new and the area is getting developed more. The beds are soft so it might be great for some people our backs were hurting but that is because we are used to our bed at home. We got connected rooms for our kids and it worked great! The breakfast was decent enough for the free continental. My only real hit is that the tvs were inconsistent with channels not coming in when they worked fine earlier and would never come back in. Kind of annoying when your kids want to watch kids shows and the channels simply won’t work. But overall a good hotel.

The Hampton Inn at Shakopee, Minnesota, was clean and quiet, the complimentary breakfast was good, and the staff very friendly and courteous. The hotel was also conveniently located for getting to our destinations in the Twin Cities. I would definitely stay there again.

We came in late needing a place to stay west of the cities before continuing west. The check in process was fast and the front desk clerk was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable. We had a bigger double queen room and there was lots of extra space. I was surprised they didn’t have a sofa sleeper in the room as it had more than enough room for a sofa. They had a nice breakfast with lots of options and seating. It was a great hotel for our quick stay.

This is a great hotel. It's very close to Valley Fair amusement park. They also had cookies which was a great surprise. The breakfast was great as well. The air conditioner made a weird noise, but we had a fan to drown out the noise.

We decided to find a hotel close to ValleyFair Amusement Park but also not too far from Mall of America, after doing some research, I chose Hampton Inn Minneapolis/Shakopee and I am so glad we did; We had an awesome stay from stay to finish. The staff (front desk, breakfast area, housekeeping) were all very nice, friendly and helpful. The hotel is quite clean and the rooms are nice and spacious. We got two rooms, adjoining for us and the kids and that worked out very well. The queen beds are comfy, the large screen TV is awesome and I love the fact that you can connect to Netflix, Youtube, etc..which adds a nice little bonus. The temp controls worked well. The room came with a nice dorm-style refrigerator (sometimes they struggle to stay cool, well our frig was super-cold, which was nice); along with a good-sized microwave and coffee maker. The bathroom was also a nice size. The free breakfast was great, they always had eggs (either omlettes, or scrambled eggs) as well as either bacon or sausage links. Plus several cereals, fresh fruit, several juice options, muffins, bagels, bread, oatmeal, waffle maker; and a large area to sit; everything was fresh and kept well-stocked. They had a nice sized-pool which we enjoyed as well as a nice work-out area, treadmills, ellipticals and free weights. Right outside the driveway is a thai restaurant, Qdoba and they are opening a Jersey Mikes plus a CVS right across the street and more. So a great location as well. So, overall a great stay and we will definitely be coming back again next year and stay here again. Check it out!
