Me and my partner stayed at this hotel for a week in September, and it went from bad to worse. Please avoid this hotel! When we arrived at the hotel, we were met by a man on reception who seemed to want us out of the way as quickly as possible, he gave us our room card and we were sent on our way. Another reception worker carried our bags into the lift after I asked him twice that I would rather take my own bag up to my room. When we got to our room I was shocked to see it was facing next doors hotel which was something quite literally out of a horror movie, fans whirring so loudly you could hear it with the doors closed, I knew I wouldn’t be able to sleep so we had to go down to reception and pay for what they called a sea view room, which it was if you stuck your head around the balcony wall! The room they had given us, was faulty, the lights keep turning off and the aircon didn’t work, we tried to let reception know about this, but not a single member of reception staff spoke English, they told us that it was working and there were no other rooms, after pleading our situation they placed us in the room next door to us, that funnily enough, was empty, so the hotel wasn’t full! We had paid for a sea view and never got one, however after 2 room changes and a long day of travelling we decided to just stay in that room and try and rest. The hotel was mainly full of Germans, Russians and Polish, who for some reason decided that they didn’t like us and were very rude, they would cut infront of you in queues such as at the bar and the lift. Gave you dirty looks and just ignored you when you tried to be welcoming, they even booed when finding out that you were English. However I must add that this isn’t the hotels fault, but I’d like to make it known to other people who may be looking at this hotel. The staff were also very rude towards us, made it very obvious that they didn’t like us, they would offer everyone else around us drinks, but then ignore us? They would greet the other guests at the hotel upon arriving to the restaurant, but then ignore us when we said hello. This got very frustrating as we were nothing but polite and kind to the staff. The staff even asked us for tips, which was shocking as not a single member of staff did anything that was worthy of a tip. The food at this hotel is not 5* standard, it isn’t catered towards the British, for example, no simple things like toast at breakfast, it was all cooked meats and a small cereal selection. The food standard wasn’t great either, most things slightly heated, even when we arrived as it opened. (However the pool bar food was a better standard) The Al la carte restaurant was absolutely awful, mine and my partners food was brought out at different times so by the time he had finished his dessert, my main course was just arriving! They got my pre ordered food wrong and then said that was what I had ordered. I got a different part of lamb to the rest of the guests that was that well do
