For a very long time I had been looking forward to a visit to El Lodge. When the time finally came, it was just to have lunch on the sun deck, but with the intention to stay on a later date in the future. That will certainly not be happening now! We were told upon arrival in no uncertain terms by a very snooty receptionist we could not have a look inside the hotel, and there was probably no space for us on the sun deck either. As we had gone through a lot of trouble to actually get there, we thought we would give the sun deck a try anyway. Admittedly, the views were amazing and the staff there really friendly. Lunch itself was very poor and really nothing special and ridiculously overpriced. When I wrote to the management about this experience, they never took the trouble of answering me, what a very poor show! A customer service course would not go amiss for certain members of their team.
