Arriving at this hotel was great - right in the middle of the really beautiful old historic centre. The reception area is lovely - wood panels and sense of history. Sadly it was downhill from there. The room we had was tired, and the bathroom was downright shabby, with the shower door only loosely attached to the shower - it had to be handled gently or it would have fallen off, I suspect. Breakfast was mediocre, with a shortage of staff on hand to replenish the buffet plates when they were empty. Cold coffee and very artificial juice. Our room overlooked the hotel courtyard and on the second night there was a birthday party in the courtyard. The music was very loud and it was impossible to rest, let alone sleep, late at night. No member of staff made any effort to alert us to this, even though it would be clear to all that our room would be adversely affected by this noise. We complained and eventually the music stopped - at about 1130pm. During our conversation the manager physically pushed me out of his way angrily. I understand that hotels use their facilities to generate income, but in this case this was not being done in a way which respected the paying guests. We certainly did not feel cared for by the hotel staff, though, in fairness, we were not charged for that night’s stay. A final piece of advice - there is (quite rightly) no parking in the citadel. There is a car park at the foot of the hill you can use once you’ve dropped your bags off at the hotel.

Rundown hotel though looks deceptively good from the outside. Noisy facing the street, nasty bathroom and breakfast very poor. Unhelpful and bored staff. Could not recommend - there are better places in this delightful town and I wish we had gone there.

A relaxing peaceful hotel says the website. This must be different from the hotel I stayed in. Decor tired and peeling away. Bathroom shower dirty. Minibar consisted of an empty fridge which was not plugged in. A lack of food and cutlery at a poor quality breakfast. An emphasis on the shabby rather than the chic. Worst of all was the noise from the courtyard late into the night. When we complained the manager physically shoved us away. They knew they were wrong as a refund was offered. But never again and not recommended.

The room we had (107) was a little tired, particularly the bathroom, where the shower door was not working properly. Breakfast was mediocre and there were no staff looking after guests. We could live with this for the location, which is great. However the worst element was the very noisy party/band in the courtyard which prevented any sleep. The staff called the manager who eventually arrived. He was very unsympathetic and ended up pushing me out of the way. The other staff were visibly embarrassed by this. I get that hospitality needs to make money, but paying guests sleeping overnight do, I think, deserve a bit better than this.

This is the perfect hotel for staying in Sighasoara. There are not many hotels in the citadel, which makes it feel more exclusive - it felt like we woke up in a fairytale. The reception area and public spaces are filled with historic memorabilia. The room was actually huge. Not sure if that’s the standard size (I booked the cheaper double) but we got what was like a suite with living area and tv, fridge and the bathroom was huge too. The citadel was very quiet in the evening and you can walk within minutes to everything. You can use the car to enter the citadel to drop suitcases off then park at the car park outside the city walls. It was free after 6pm, but chargeable from 7am so we didn’t pay too much for parking. We ate elsewhere in the evening but had a free breakfast the next morning. You could pick what you wanted off the menu, but as it had prices we presumed we needed to pay (it’s all included). It was very quiet and basic food but it was good enough. Staff were very pleasant and friendly. One of my favourite hotels in Transylvania and a good price.

The hotel is very well located, right in the heart of Sighisoara. The staff is professional, the hotel room is clean and spacious. Cleaning services 10/10. Totally recommend! Also the price is great for the value of the hotel. We were surprised by the rooms, because on booking the photos are old, furniture is different now.

We can't review the services here... The check in was really nice - the receptionist was friendly and guided us to our room. We went out to explore the citadel, which is gorgeous - and we met some friends for dinner. However - we came back at about 11.30 pm to find the hotel completely closed. We knocked on the door, rang the reception and tried to get some attention (only to hear the phone ring from outside). In a snowstorm, Eventually we had to walk outside of the citadel and check into the Doubletree Hilton at the bottom of the hill. This was an additional cost of around 550 lei (about £100). When we returned in the morning, the staff were incredible apologetic and we are not people who will be antagonistic - it wasn't the morning staff fault. They did waive the cost of the hotel, and we are only maybe £40 out of pocket, bit it was a major inconvenience. All of our luggage and some necessary medication was in there.

This hotel is right in the middle of the old walled city of Sighisoara, on the main square and just a 2 minute walk from the Clock Tower. There is no parking for guests in the Old Town, so you'll need to be dropped off with your bags, or you'll need to walk up the hill from the parking lot below the town with your bags. The boutique hotel is in a historical building that oozes charm with its exposed wooden beams, brick archways, and original German murals. There's no lift, so ask for help with bags if you need it. There is also no individually controlled air - they turn on the central heating when it's cold, and they provide fans in the rooms when it's warm (or you can open a window). We had a double room with two twin beds, and it was a very large room for European standards. The furniture is a little more modern that what appears in some of the photos here, so I'm guessing there have been some improvements in recent years. There was a small wardrobe, a desk with small flat-screen TV, and a mini-bar. I didn't see a safe, but maybe I missed it. The bathroom was the biggest problem with this room - and I'll give the caveat that every room in this hotel is different, so this may have been unique to our room. Compared to the size of the room, the bathroom was absolutely tiny. The sink had storage above it, so that was helpful - but the shower was horrendous. I'm a world traveler and have been to a LOT of hotels, and have never had a shower this small. The pre-fabricated stall was absolutely tiny, and there was NO shelf to put toiletries - so you had to put them on the floor. But the stall was SO tiny, you couldn't bend over to pick up the items on the floor. And the shower doors kept coming open, letting all the water out - so there was then a lake of water on the floor. It was a horrible experience. I would highly recommend the hotel add a couple shelves in the shower, first of all, and second - make a bigger shower stall! There is room for a bigger one. It was also fairly awkward that there was a window in the door to the bathroom. It was frosted, but still -- why? Nobody needs a window to a bathroom. The WiFi was complimentary and worked well. The breakfast buffet was minimal, with meats/cheeses, bread, cold cereal, and some scrambled eggs and sausage. The breakfast room was interesting, and doubles as a restaurant at night. There's a nice outdoor patio which is covered in vines and has good ambiance. It's a bar at night, and overflow for the restaurant in the peak season. The souvenir shop in the lobby was never open - we would have liked to have visited it (it's likely owned by someone else, just renting space in the hotel).
