The Garda Village

We had a great family holiday here and would recommend. The reception staff were friendly and the site was lovely. The accommodation and site were clean. The site was busy without feeling overcrowded which was nice. We visited the 3 pools daily and had great fun. Ideal for all the family and the pool area were clean and tidy. There is music playing daily at the pool and aqua aerobics which you can just join in with which was great! The evening entertainment was good and we enjoyed a foam party but the entertainment didn't seem to be on a lot of the evenings which our children were disappointed about. There is a lovely little train ride for just a couple euros per person that we enjoyed in the evenings. The location is beautiful and we enjoyed exploring. The restaurant on site we visited the first night and the food was delicious although 3 of the meals were forgotten about and it did ruin the meal for us and there was no real apology about this. There weren't any child friendly options at all either. There are plenty of places locally to eat though so this wouldn't stop us visiting again based on this as we enjoyed exploring the area. We hired a car but you can explore the local area by food if you are happy to walk a little. There is a little shop on site and fresh baked goods daily which was nice. We asked about the half board and breakfast options but couldnt really see where this was on site, it didnt seem clear or even how it worked which would have been helpful. Lovely private beach area where everyone enjoyed swimming in the lake. The site itself is great and we would definitely visit again. We loved our time at The Garda Village.

Love holidays had 50 pictures of the village when I booked in January 2024 showing maxi caravans, mobile homes and facilities, however the pictures they are advertising are not the bungalows you are booking. So disappointed to find we were not booked to stay in a mobile home. There are so many different types of premises you can book so be careful. There are apartments, bungalows, caravans, mobile homes, mobile home deluxe etc.. The pictures displayed on their website are mobile homes deluxe. Love Holidays check out with you booking into bungalows. We had to pay an extra £112 euros upon arrival because there was no way we was staying in a bungalow. They are old, dark and small. I was so shocked that the pictures I saw was not were we would be. We took the receptionist to what we thought we had booked- which are the pictures visible on their website today, mobile home deluxe, and she was happy to swap us over but with the charge. The mobile home was amazing. Felt brand new. Everything you need for a self catering stay and more. If I was going again this is what I’d book. We had 6 beds and an en suit. There was only 4 of us but the extra space and the decking space was great. Nice privacy and I couldn’t be happier with the mobile home deluxe. The second issue we had was the swimming pools were not ready for use. We arrived on the 4.4.2024 and they won’t be ready until after 19th April 2024. We were so disappointed by this and the pool lady displayed her dissatisfaction as no one was drinking or using her facilities as the three pools were closed. They had the cleaning equipment in them but were ponds. Full of green dirty water. This was my kids first holiday 6 and 8 and they had no use of the pools, the weather was amazing aswell. This was the hotels fault. Mis Selling the rooms is a total mess up from Loe Holidays and they need to update their site to show were you would be staying if booking with them. Them complex is huge with over 500 different rooms or premises to stay . There was also no free WiFi. You have to pay charges which are above the receptionist desk when you book in.

The bungalows are basic but have everything you need for your stay, including pots, pans & utensils etc. The window shutters are extremely black out so are great for bed time as no light comes in the room. The location of the village is also good, a short walk to Sirmione, but highly recommend getting a car to explore the lake! However… some bad points. On check in you are charged an “end of stay cleaning fee” which I personally think is absolutely absurd as the room was not clean upon our arrival. The bungalow was caked in dust, the shower was dirty and had lots of black mouldy patches, the grout was filthy and the floors were really dusty and dirty. You are also not given very good cleaning equipment to keep the room tidy during your stay, even though there is no cleaning service. We got a battered sweeping brush, and no mop to clean the floors. If you are a light sleeper I would not recommend the bungalows are the walls are paper thin. We could literally hear our neighbours snoring and alarm in the morning as if it was in our own bedroom it was that loud. Additionally, we hired a travel cot for our 9 month old which came to 56 euros for the week! 8 euros per night! We could have paid our airline £15 and brought our own. In my eyes this is very expensive. Overall we had a great stay as it is what you make it. But some of the points mentioned above could certainly be improved for a better stay next time.

Not a nice place to stay would not recommend!! We got to our bungalow which was absolutely nothing like what was advertised online. There were bugs crawling around the floor and the walls were incredibly thin you could hear through them. When we asked to move rooms there was an £150 difference for what is seen online which is bad false advertisement. It is also located in the middle of no where and the closest train is an hour and a half walk away. Would not recommend

I came here for a week with my wife and three kids. We had a great time! This is the best campsite we have stayed on. Friendly staff, great food. The accommodation was very clean and well maintained! There was plenty to do for the kids! Football, swimming and more! I loved sitting every evening eating our dinner beside the lake! We were sad leaving! Thanks Garda Village for a wonderful holiday and one we won’t forget soon!!

Accommodation: trilo, lovely space, great shower, air con in kitchen and main bedroom, kids bedroom with bunk single beds sturdy and comfy. Private patio. 3 gorgeous swimming pools, lovely comfy - and free! - sun loungers, life guards very present. Animation: an amazing team of 7/8 folks with energy to outstanding levels, Eledi has them motivated, energised and smiling all the time, a brilliant group of youngsters. Activities, including water bikes, by the pool, at the mini club (2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the evening, parents' paradise), at the arena (dancing, games, canaret and more) and fully bilingual staff. Cristian at the Pool Bar and Matteo at the Teatra will keep you well hydrated 😉. The market shop has a lot of essentials, not much stock for everyday cooking but nearby supermarkets are well stocked (10 minutes walk). We'd a brilliant holiday, I'm vegan and fully catered for, Cristian's auntie has secret recipes she's trying out!! Vast majority of ppl we've come across have been friendly, chatty, nice, going the extra mile. Lastly - we arrived 3 days after the worst storm inthe area in 40 years: cars and vans destroyed, but also houses, taxis, electricity gone for hours, and people stuck, shaken and in a panic. The staff at the Garda Village have been working overtime for days on end to keep the gig going, Giulio and the security and maintenance crew going to all calls, and trying their best. I cannot think of more dedicated and helpful people and it's the people who make the experiences.

I was a bit apprehensive about holiday having read some of the reviews on here, we travelled as a family of five 2 adults. And 3 children ages 12,9,6, we flew into Milan airport and it's 190 in a taxi from there we had a private transfer booked, we arrived at 2 o'clock in the day and was beautiful sunshine, the reception is large and the staff where so nice and extremely helpful from the getgo, we received our keys and we got given a bottle of local red wine as welcome gift. We stayed in a maxi caravan close to reception and pools, it was spotless clean we brought our own bed linen sheets and pillow cases in suitcase they provide bed spreads and blankets which were perfect there's Aircon which was a godsend on the very hot days and there is an oven and microwave ect which we didn't use , the pools are fab three big pools and spotless clean, pool bar serves food and drinks, pizza restaurant on site is lovely and also. Do takeaway , great bar area , lots of entertainment each evening for kids mini disco and shows on until about 11.30, during the day there is mini club which is two hours in the morning and two two in the afternoon, if you want to go to sirimone the bus. Stop is a few mins walk , you can easily walk to the near by town with kids it's 20 mins there's a co op supermarket there where you can stock up on drinks food ect as the market on site is great great for essentials and fresh bread but co op as a wider variety, there lovely restaurants in the town we are out a few nights and food was great. We went on a boat trip in sirimone it was 35 euro for us all and would highly recommend and the castle is great kids are free and 7 euro for adults, we visited movie land and ceneva water parks we booked a two day ticket for 220 euro for us all cost 59 euro in a taxi up and 30 back both days , movie land is a fab day out especially with younger kids we arrived at 10 in morning and stayed till 9 at night , waterpark is fab plenty for all ages and plenty of pig fast slides for trill seekers, we also traveled to Gardaland it was fantastic again we spent white day there rides are brilliant and loads to do really great day out was 235 euro and was 80 euro euro once again in taxi, we visited sealife also which kids loved looking at all the amazing fish it's 9 euro per person. Back in Gard village there is an amazing little train that runs in the evening 2 euro per person it's great fun , there's a lovely ice cream place on site that opens at 6 and stays open till 11 most nights. You and also get ice creams in the bar , the bar food is also. Nice , the late is beautiful and beautiful wooden bridge we walked down at night, honestly the place is fab for families , during the recent storm there was some damage but to to far you would need to look hard to find it , there is also a lovely little juice place near the playground and there is also football and basketball ball facilities and plenty of green space there is a gym and loads of ac

We were 2 adults and two kids in a bungalow - B4 - the renovated one. That was fine enough, even had a microwawe. The internet connection is very poor though - no 3G, 4G og 5G during the day, and wi-finis very expensive with no coverage in the bungalows. The site has 3 pools, with loud music etc - a bit to much for us, but that’s individual opinion! The restaurants pizzas are great! The “beach” is no beach, but two stairs leading directly into lake Garda. If you go there - then walk about 300 metres to the right, there’s a public beach with pebble-stones, much better for the kids! It is quite a walk to Sirmione Historic Center from here. We were here during the hail-storm, where almost all cars in the site was smashed. People were shocked - especially the kids were afraid this would happen again. We were amazed of the lack of consideration by the staff here: no one asked if we needed anything, if the guests were OK, and no help with covering all the cars - people ended up using interior from the bungalows to secure their car, pillows and blankets etc. The camp site acted as if this didn’t happen. Really weird! The supermarket in the camp has almost no meat, fruit and vegetables - eventhough there’s a fully equipped kitchen in every unit. You have to use a swim-cap in the pools, eventhough you don’t have to wash off before entering the pool. Doesn’t really make sense to me!

Avoid. This place is by far the worst place we have every visited in the 40 years of travel. Not at all the standard we expected from the tour operator Top Flight, miss represented on their information. Not at the standards of Spanish or French camping resorts. We stayed in the old accommodation units at the far end of the resort, Dubbed by my kids the 'Prison Cell' zero maintenance in the building or landscaping. Reception building was like entering a bus station office, unwelcoming, and crowed. Staff very little assistance with advice on public transport, no timetables available, left to find our own way around. The camp site overgrown weeds, damaged footpaths, zero attention to maintaining painting of buildings. Food market poorly stocked and overpriced, shelves in the fridge area almost fell apart when my son put product back on the shelf and the manager looked angry at my son as if he was at fault. Clearly the owners/ management are not investing in the resort and are allowing it to just survive. We hired a car and got out around Garda Lake as much as we could which was the best thing we advise if staying at The Garda Village.
