This lodge is one of a widely dispersed assortment of resorts in a most extraordinary part of Namibia. Namib Naukluft was built a few years ago now (I'm guessing '60's or '70's) and is a bit dated but you quickly get past that with the genuine hospitality and simplicity of the lodge... and it's location. Food was good, sometimes great, service wonderful. It is remote. Solitaire is a dusty 15 minutes away. It has a petrol station, a restaurant and a bakery with the best apple crumble this side of the English Channel...but that's it, so no eating out or heading down to the local after dinner. This simple and charming resort is all you have - and all you will need.
