I'm in my 60s and never stayed in a hotel alone before. I was nervous! The guy at the front desk was so nice; I think he picked up on my apprehension and was extra kind. He had a sweet smile and used it freely. He put me in a beautiful, room that was larger than the typical size. I immediately felt comfortable and relaxed. I had a great night's sleep with no sounds from the hallway nor the rooms next door. In the morning, I opened up the curtains and to my surprise, there was a fabulous indoor courtyard with tropical plants and a fountain! For breakfast, I made my own waffle, which I love because I made them light - just the way I like them. They had plain scrambled eggs and sausage, oatmeal, fresh bananas and crunchy apples. There were many more options, but what I liked the best is that I felt management made it a priority to be sure everything was clean. The utensils came out of their holder one at a time so I knew that other guests hadn't touched them. The cups were covered in plastic, so again, I knew they were clean. The eating area was a few steps down (if desired) with an open fireplace and wide, wooden-planked flooring. The plants around were real and healthy, making it a very cozy space. Beyond that, was the closed courtyard - so inviting! Honestly, I was so relaxed, I didn't want to get on the road again and stayed until after checkout time. Nobody complained about that not even the maid who let me back in with a smile when I had forgotten something. On the way to my car, I noticed they had grape hyacinths growing around their light post. Another refreshing sight! The only thing I would have changed about the stay, was that they didn't have herbal tea.
