The Coach House Inn

We stayed for two nights with family. Our room hadn't been cleaned properly. The carpet was still gritty and dirty, the loo had skid marks and the washwasin had hairs on it. The bed was uncomfortable, the matress needed replacing, and the windows were flithy and black with mould. The breakfast was poor. No muesli and very poor choice of cereal, cooked breakfast was okay but no toast was offered and not worth £15. When the landlady asked about our stay, my husband suggested the windows in our room needed refurbishing. Her response was that lots of things needed doing but she was on her own. Not a good enough reponse when taking the public's money. Needless to say, we won't be back.

Lovely welcome and very helpful staff. Bedrooms adequate (understandable restrictions on space in such a lovely old building) and comfortable king size beds. Bar and all food good quality and well cooked. All the staff where pleasant and seemed to know their jobs well.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast we were given was excellent. The bedroom, which was at the tope of the house had a very comfortable bed. Unfortunately the bathroom was not ideal for an elderly couple. Car parking facilities were excellent.

A warm welcome upon arriving from Emma and a little about the Coach House history . The room was a comfortable double with ensuite, Evening meals were delicious and the staff were courteous and friendly. I'll be staying here again next year.

A pleasent Inn situated in the village of South Luffenham. The food was excellent, as was the beer and off street parking was available, which was important since I needed somewhere secure for my motorcycle. Unlike a lot a properties I have have stayed at, breakfast was also available and was very welcome as I had quite an early start both mornings I was there. The room (a single room) was ideal and had en-suite facilities which sometimes you don't always get with single rooms.

Emma and the team went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Emma went so far as to give us a lift to the church where the wedding we were going to was being held. Each morning the most delicious breakfast was served in the restaurant by Emma.

Absolutely fantastic pub/hotel, Emma & her small team were friendly, helpful and always courteous. A great location within a small village but close to local points of interest, the food was up there with some of the best I’ve had at any top hotels and attention to detail was impressive ! A sizeable choice of pump ales in the bar which was a plus as I’m a member of CAMERA, our 1st trip but definitely not our last. Well done Emma and the team 10/10.

I was so disappointed with The Coach House Inn. Where do I start? The bed was so low and uncomfortable, lumps everywhere. The bathroom was pokey and the toilet was dirty. Road noise during the night was loud and the room was nothing like the photos. A refurb is desperately needed. The food was expensive for what it was. Poor portions and the parsley sauce was like water. I dodged breakfast based on my experience at dinner. The bar was nice enough with locals drinking but overall an awful stay. So disappointing.

Arrived at reception after a long journey, could see barman working his socks off in busy bar area whilst chef and waitress were sitting in car park area looking at us. Waited 10 minutes then chef decided to come and check us in. Room dark and grubby, in need of refurbishment. No milk in room so had to go back to reception to ask for some, luckily chef was still there! Went to get food in very busy bar area on the evening, good atmosphere as full of locals but still only the one barman working his socks off. After eventually ordering our food we waited an hour for it to come. Not worth the wait! Steak was really tough and burger medioca. So...to breakfast! My husband went to serve himself to orange juice and was reprimanded by the breakfast chef! Quite surly.... sit down and I will serve you! Cereals on display but non offered. The only good thing was that the cooked breakfast was excellent and plentiful. Unfortunately not enough going for the Coach House to make us want to stay again. We had booked a room for the following Saturday as half way from where we were holidaying but cancelled and drove all the way home in one go,as felt that we didn't want to waste any more money on another bad experience.
