Our two-night stay at the Pilgrim Inn in Marchwood exceeded all expectations. We booked a ground floor standard double, and the room was simply lovely. I couldn’t find a single fault with it – the accommodation offered exceptional value for money. The room was spacious, the bathroom large with a walk-in shower, and although the bed was a standard double, it was incredibly comfortable. While we didn't have the chance to sample an evening meal, the breakfast was excellent. It was not only delicious but of top-notch quality. On previous trips, we stayed more centrally in the New Forest, but this time, staying in Marchwood allowed us to easily explore Hythe and the surrounding areas. We were genuinely thrilled with our choice, and had it not been for work commitments, we would have gladly extended our stay. Highly recommended!

Unfortunately we were left feeling very disappointed with our stay at the pilgrim. Our room was stifling hot with only a small fan on offer to give some air, the obvious choice is then to open the window but the constant flow of traffic from 5.30am left us feeling even more frustrated. Dinner was very average and felt very disorganised, it didn’t help that scaffolding was being erected at dinner service time.

Lovely hotel and bar the rooms are lovely. The breakfast was very nice. Pedro Santos the general manager was brilliant helped us a lot can’t praise him enough made our stay very good along with all his staff. We will definitely be back again to this lovely hotel

We came as a family of 3, staying because the pub was well located for Paultons. The hotel was really pleasantly surprising. We booked a family room, which felt incredible value. We had room 11, which had very clearly been renovated recently. The room was large and clean, with a really well appointed bathroom. It all had nice touches like a Nespresso, coffee bags and Bramley bath products. The pub itself had a decent garden, and the staff were all very friendly and attentive. We ate there in the evening and felt the menu was varied, and the food good quality. Overall, we have paid much more elsewhere to get a lot less.

We enjoyed our stay, the staff were friendly, the food was good! Room was clean and welcoming and modern with air conditioning and a good supply of coffee tea and bottled water. The only downside for us was the mattress was soft and had two imprints where it had been used so we had to turn it, pillows were very thin and probably need replacing.

The pilgrim is a lovely country style pub with a gorgeous outside area. We sat outside with our drinks and ordered a couple of nibbles to munch on. Some chips, The Focaccia and some mixed Olive's. The service was polite and speedy Chips were hot, good size portion and tasty, the Bread was warm and delicious. The olives were terrible, small and with the stone's in, if you are charging £5 for olives then supply quality delicious ones with no Stone's. Please take this suggestion on board and change your olive's, quality over quantity is always a winner - No Stones in.

We really enjoyed our stay here and would stay again. The room was large and so clean. The bed so comfy and the towels so fluffy. There was even a voucher in the room for a couple of free drinks in the bar!! We had dinner in the restaurant and thought it was lovely and well presented. Breakfast was also good. Service from everyone was faultless throughout. Perhaps a tad expensive for a pub hotel but you have to pay for quality.

Visited The Pilgrim today for Fathers Day, sadly disappointed. All staff very young and unattentive. All 3 starters ordered came out incorrect & our mains were awful. Trio of roast, all meat was overcooked & inedible, crackling like a hard bit of leather, Yorkshire pudding hard, cold & crunchy. Childrens meal, chicken goujons were rock hard, like frisbees. Again, inedible for our 2yr old! Overpriced drinks, uninterested staff, lack of atmosphere. Used to be regular diners as its our local. Won't be returning in a hurry, only bonus was they reduced the bill by 50% and the roast potatoes were decent!

Run by young students, left standing at the bar with large suitcases to be ignored as reception for hotel is now over the road. The food was just ok but took almost an hour for a ploughmans lunch to come out. 2130 must be shift end and 2 young lads singing and being really rowdy as we were eating. Just unprofessional, previously stayed here 3 times over the years and was amazing. Wont be staying again
