Location is perfect to visit Zion. Very nice staff, breakfast voucher to restaurants nearby, afternoon snacks. Not all rooms have a fridge, ours didn’t. Decor is not for everyone. Guests need to lock and unlock the front door every time they go in or out, even while loading the car. It is a place with character!

The Novel House is the best place! Centrally located in Springdale, it is near shops, restaurants and the Zion Shuttle. The charm of the place is the unique rooms based on different novelists. We stayed in the CS Lewis room, complete with wardrobe, lion and other period pieces. The rest of Novel House is worth exploring. The library is phenomenal, the sitting area is comfy and the porch is a great place to relax. Would absolutely stay again! Breakfast is not served here; vouchers are provided to 2 restaurants. Oscars is better!

The Kipling room at the Novel House Inn was a great stay. Lovely cosy room with decor associated with Kipling including a 4 poster bed, elephants and wooden carvings. Breakfast at Oscar's was delightful and they were open till 11, making it possible to finish an early morning hike before grabbing a late breakfast. Cookies and lemonade in the afternoon were refreshing after long hikes. The library, sitting room and porch were beautiful for a sit-down. Zion NP entrance is 10 minutes away, making it very convenient and the ideal base for hiking adventures!

This was such a charming find in the town of tourism!! Reasonably priced with an owner who makes sure you have everything you need. There is a Zion Shuttle stop right near. The Inn has unique rooms named/themed after authors. A charming library. Coffee brewing every morning and afternoon tea and lemonade. There are also breakfast vouchers given for 2 local restaurants within walking distance. We really enjoyed Oscars Cafe

Jo was so amazing and helpful, as well as the rest of the staff. Rooms are cutely decorated and have lots of space to store your things . Breakfast at Oscars was great with huge portions! Location can’t be beat-right near downtown Springdale. We would definitely return.

We stayed at Novel House for a week during our honeymoon, and our experience was nothing short of excellent. Our room (the Brontë room) was very well-equipped, comfortable, and a great place to return to after our outings into Zion. The location is perfect; it's an easy walk to anything in Springdale, and just over a mile to the park entrance itself. We greatly enjoyed breakfasts at Oscar's, and taking advantage of the breakfast voucher each morning meant that we were never without copious leftovers to eat after our hikes. We loved sitting outside in the evenings to take in the sunset and admire our surroundings. Despite all of these great things, however, the best part about our stay was the kindness and generosity of everyone on staff. When we arrived, Jo greeted us warmly when we arrived, gave us lots of great ideas for what to do and see during our time in Springdale, and welcomed us back each afternoon when we came back from the Park. Ciaran kindly ensured we had everything we needed during our stay, and took care that our room was always in tip-top shape. We will absolutely stay at Novel House the next time we're in Zion -- it truly felt like a second home.

The Novel house was an awesome place to stay during our visit to Zion. Our hosts we very friendly and accommodating. They gave us great idea's on hikes and restaurants in the area. Our room was very clean, comfortable and spacious. The themed decor was really cool. The breakfast at two local restaurants, which was included in the room rate, was very good. The property had lots of different sitting areas to relax and view the mountains. The inside also had some very nice areas to sit and relax. Springdale was a great little town with some very good restaurants. We'll definitely stay there again on our next visit to Zion.

I cannot imagine that there is a better home base for exploring Zion National Park. The location is within walking distance of the shuttle to the park. Each room is named and decorated for a famous novelist. We stayed in the Robert Louis Stevenson room. The room was spacious with a nice seating area and a wonderful bed. The Inn provides vouchers for breakfast at Oscars or Porters. We chose to eat at Oscars the three mornings we were there. They have a varied menu and all of the food is fresh and well prepared. In addition to exploring Zion, it is worth taking a short walk behind the Inn to the Pioneer Cemetery that has graves dating back to the early 1800's. The walls around the cemetery practically glow with color at sunset to create a picture you will never forget.

The Novel House is an oasis in the busy Zion entrance town of Springdale, UT. The home itself is quite attractive and clean. At check-in, you get a nice welcome and brief orientation. Ours was by the wonderful Joanna, who also looked out for us in giving important travel information for the rest of our trip. You get free breakfast coupons for a couple of restaurants nearby, which we didn't use due to our Zion early hours. However, we did eat at one of them for dinner (Oscar's) and it was quite good. The large community room is very comfortable; the library across the foyer to did for! We stayed in the Mark Twain room and it was both comfortable and well-decorated in "Twain". We felt his wise presence during our entire stay. Don't stay anywhere else in Springdale. This is the place.

Quick summary: very comfortable stay in a charming inn. Convenient, walkable location to restaurants, shops, laundromat, park shuttle bus stop. Friendly, professional, helpful service. The inn’s rooms reflect the literary interests of the founding family. We were in the Brontë room, which is spacious and has a very comfy king bed, electric (gas?) fireplace if you like. Very much a romantic vibe with 4-poster bed, tones of ivory, a handmade quilt with lovely workmanship, and an assortment of books of Brontë poetry and the sisters’ works. The room also has a table and chairs; sitting bench; armoire for stashing your clothing; and full -length mirror. Fridge. Glassware for wine and drinks. The bed pillows are very comfy (I’ve stayed in hotels where they are not, so I like to mention this.) TV works well, with lots of channels. Wi-Fi works well. Roomy bathroom has a combination tub/shower, and nice tiling throughout. The sink area has a large mirror and vanity to spread out your toiletries and necessities. Complimentary shampoo, lotion, and hand soap. The public rooms are charming — sunny and very homey with sofas, dining tables, nice decor. Some guests like to work their laptops on the dining tables, enjoying the complimentary afternoon cookies or morning coffee/tea. Guests can use a fridge/freezer in the dining room for their own stuff. Microwave is also available. Breakfast is not served on site, but complimentary at two well-chosen options in easy walking distance in town. This is a wonderful idea - choose what you like off the large menus of tasty food. Get your morning coffee at the inn to help you get dressed, then go for a walk to a restaurant that is 5 minutes’ walk away or less. The hosts could not be friendlier or more professional, and very helpful with advice. Pay attention to their restaurant recommendations. Due diligence: I think all the bedrooms are on the second floor, and there is no elevator. This is not a problem for us, and the owner/staff offered to help us with luggage, but guests with mobility issues should be aware. Frankly, I’d stay here again in a heartbeat if we’re in the area again, but I’d be curious to experience the other rooms for the vibes from other authors. What would a night with Kipling or others be like? Highly recommended.

The Novel House Inn turned out to be our favorite stay on our trip through the Utah / Arizona national parks. The stay started with a lovely greeting and a very nice introduction to the inn and the area. Our room (Robert Louis Stevenson) was clean, warm and cozy. Downstairs were cookies in the afternoon and coffee starting at 5 AM (which I did partake of). Breakfast is included at either Porters or Oscars. We ate at both and found both to be fine meals. The shuttle stop to the park is about a 2 minute walk. The owner allowed us to leave our car at the inn after we had checked out so we could take the shuttle to the park and enjoy our day. I cannot say this is a 5 star hotel but it certainly a 5 star experience... Thank you Cieran...

Wonderful room, perfectly located, staff could not have been more accommodating. Locate close to shops, restaurants in the Zion shuttle. This is much cozy or then a hotel or motel, much like a B&B. I would definitely stay here again!

This is a don't miss properrty if you like B&Bs. It is beautifully kept up and very clean. Although we did not meet the owners, the manager, Maria, was extremly helpful and full of knowledge. She told us where the shuttle stop was and explained the voucher system for breakfast at each of the two restaurants. The lemonade and cookies in the afternoon is an added touch. The room Louis L'Amore room had a king bed and there was enough room to get around, but I would have liked some comfortable chairs or a loveseat instead of the huge cafe table and 2 rocking chairs. Hot water was plentiful but it took a long time to get hot enough for a shower. My only other complaint is that there was not a both mat for the shower and the tub was a bit slippery.

What a lovely property with owners that REALLY care. Cieran is a very committed host and I can understand why. This property has been in the family for many years. He shared a few stories with us and we also had the opportunity to meet one of his sons. The view from the back yard is awesome.
