Booked a room using the “Buy a gift” voucher our children had gifted us. All booked through the buy a gift site, and we were looking forward to the visit. Unfortunately, the following day, this hotel emailed us to tell us they couldn’t accommodate our booking, although when we checked on ***********, they had rooms available. We called the hotel and were told they had business guests and they were full. When we asked why they were still advertising rooms as available, they replied, “we like to hold rooms back for business guests”. To finish off, they told us it was up to us to cancel the booking with buy a gift. To summarise, we were treated disgracefully and this hotel basically laughed at us. Please be careful if you are thinking of booking using a voucher, because although they say they will accept them, you will be at risk of being cancelled on, and your plans disrupted.
