Premier Inn Wigan (M6 Jct 27)

We had booked in at Wrightington Country Hotel for a wedding but after we tried checking in we were told the booking was cancelled so found ourselves stranded with a 7 month old. Long story short, we called Premier Inn and were welcomed with open arms by Abby. She set up a cot for my little boy and put us on the ground floor as we had a buggy. After a stressful evening she told us to leave our stress at the front door and not let it tarnish what was supposed to be a memorable day and this really helped turn our evening around, having someone put into perspective that it wasn’t a big deal and we were safe, warm and had a lovely hotel room. After reading the reviews on here it would have put me off staying but the hotel is lovely, it’s not modern but it’s clean. Although old, the furnishings are in good condition, towels fresh, bed comfortable with clean crisp linen, lovely view at the back, 12pm check out, kettle, wardrobe space, sofa, desk.. I can’t fault it and would recommend to anyone visiting for a wedding etc. Thank you premier inn for turning our day around and especially to Abby for making us laugh and feel extremely welcome !

The worst Premier Inn I have stayed in. The rooms and deco are dated and definately in need of deep clean and refurbishing. The food in the restaurant next door was tasteless and again decor needs updating. The staff were more interested in talking to each other than serving and waiting on, you felt like you were an inconvenience.

We were looking forward to a Premier inn hotel to break up a long journey but were so disappointed with this one. It's past its best with worn carpets in corridor, built up dust in the skirting of the room and the bathroom door veneer all chipped off at the bottom. The kettle and TV are fixed in awkward positions to the desk. We had to request two extra cups required for a family room. The family room is on the second floor which was okay for us maybe not those with very young kids. The first thing you see on the stairs landing is an old door stop, which kind of says it all ( photo) this would be an easy fix. The room all we needed for one night but overall very far off the high standard Premier inn experience we expected, and not any cheaper.

We had a great stay at the weekend. We arrived quite late in the evening, but were greeted warmly by Abbey. Check in was swift and efficient. The room was comfy and ideal after our cold and wet day at Radio 2’s Party in the Park. We had pre-booked for breakfast, and were a little surprised it was only served until 8.30am! Once again, service was friendly and efficient though, and my partner was thrilled to find a perfect poached egg on the menu! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay again if we’re back in the area in future, and would definitely recommend this Premier Inn!

The staff in premier inn Standish are incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. We also enjoyed the delicious breakfast served in the restaurant each morning. We will be coming back

Receptionist very informative on check in. All staff very friendly and helpfull. Room clean and bed very comfy. Hotel a bit tired and old fashion with very small tv in the room, but other than that you have everything what you need for a short break.
