Black Horse Beamish

Arrived after visiting beamish museum for an over nighter which included breakfast and an evening meal deal allowing us £40 off our combined evening meal. Booked in and met with Amanda who showed us to our room and explained all the features, including how to fill the enormous copper round bath! The room was huge with everything you could ask for fridge, safe, tv, iron and board etc, etc and lovely soft towels. Popped into the bar for a drink and a sandwich and sat outside watching the world go by in a very relaxed atmosphere with exceedingly helpful and pleasant staff. There was a classic car show on early evening which added to our stay. The evening meal was excellent, a mixed grill and the famous steak and ale pie, all served piping hot by the courteous staff. The area around the hotel is quiet and peaceful leading to a very comfortable night’s sleep. Breakfast was also superb with continental choice as well as a full menu cooked to order. This hotel ticks all the boxes, clean, quiet, comfy with brilliant staff who go the extra mile to make your stay something special. When we booked out once again Amanda was on duty asking for feedback from our stay which is a nice touch that they positively ask for feedback. This hotel is an oasis of calm and just the place to relax. We will be back.

The food was poor, The wife ordered steak and ale pie the mash and veg were fine but the pie crust was so hard you could not eat it . I ordered the 8 ounce chuck steak burger which was 2 plain burgers stuck between a bun with cheese and bacon not a 8 ounce burger as on the menue skinny chips were bland but the onion rings were ok . Will not be going back till the food improves and they serve what is described on the menu.

We found the Black Horse after searching for somewhere to park overnight and were so lucky to find it. It was Father’s Day and very busy but they managed to fit us in. The staff were so friendly, the food absolutely delicious and no charge for overnight parking.

We had our wedding here on 1st June 2024 and I can’t even put into words how amazing it was! Anne and her team were absolute dreams and amazing at what they do! We honest cannot thank them enough! Nothing was too much and we were well looked after!

My daughter and son in law were married at the Black Horse last week. The venue was amazing with fantastic views and the accommodation was first class. We had food in the restaurant the night before and it was lovely. The Wedding day went smoothly and I'd like to say a huge thank you to everyone, especially Anne and Georgiana for ensuring my daughter and son in law had the most amazing day for their wedding. I can't wait to come back 🙂

My wife and I have just returned from an overnight stay in the Black Horse, Beamish, to attend our lovely grandaughter’s wedding. The venue for the wedding was excellent, everything went well and the organisation was first class. The food was very good throughout the wedding day and the staff were all professional and friendly. Our overnight accommodation was expensive but first class, no problems with the room and the breakfast was very tasty. Thank you, a spectacular event to remember.
