Spent 12 days at Scandic for a business trip during September. 12 days is a long time to stay in the same hotel room, but Scandic Royal made it work. I stayed at the 6th floor, and would recommend fellow travellers to avoid it. The ceiling is vaulted by the window, which makes said window very small. It wasn't exactly a problem, but I like big windows, and if you do too avoid 6th floor rooms. Some of the rooms will face the inside of the building instead of outside, it was not the case with my room, but let it be noted anyways. Breakfast was nice, nothing fancy, and no options made to order, but good variety and high quality ingredients throughout. During workdays I would get breakfast very early and it wasn't crowded, but during the weekend I woke up later and it got pretty hectic. Items wouldn't be replenished timely and it would be hard to find tables. Might have been because of the time of the year - the hotel was packed - and it didn't take away too much from my experience, but be noted, avoid having breakfast after 9am during weekends. Spa was pretty nice and booking time to use it didn't bother me. Gym could be better equipped, though. For a longer stay having more weight and machine options is crucial. Location was great, right by the center but far enough that you won't be bothered by the night life (not that there is a whole lot of that). Overall Scandic was nice, maybe not vacations nice, but I certainly recommend it.
