This Premier Inn experience was deeply disappointing, failing to meet the basic standards we would expect from a Premier Inn. Hotel Issues • No cot mattress provided — the cot was just a frame with hard wooden planks. We booked direct, and this was never disclosed during the booking process. This left us struggling to find a safe sleeping arrangement for our baby. • Terrible parking — we had to park far from the entrance, even though we had a baby. • The hotel felt tired, with worn furnishings and filthy carpets. • The room was constantly cold — locked at 19°C in the evening and dropping to 16°C overnight and in the morning, with any attempted adjustments quickly resetting. Heated with just a small electric heater. Breakfast Issues • To reach breakfast, we had to walk outside and re-enter the building elsewhere, highly inconvenient with a baby during December. • Cooked breakfasts were to order but slow and no better than a basic buffet. • Tiny portions (just one rasher of bacon), and asking for more took another 20 minutes. • The continental buffet area was worn, needed refurbishment, and was not clean. • Promised “free from” items were not readily available — we waited 20 minutes after requesting bread, soya milk, and granola with each item arriving individually. Overall, a thoroughly disappointing stay falling far below the basic standards expected from a Premier Inn.
