Crown Hotel Stone

Hotel has been recently upgraded with excellent bathrooms and newly refurnished bedrooms. Never stayed in this part of U.K. - thriving street market /street food event once per month; sense of a ‘fight back’ and good on them. Worth a visit

My husband and I went away for a couple of days to visit friends, the hotel had been recommended as was central and easy to get to from the train station within walking distance. I'm not sure where to start with this review? Our experience was totally amazing! The building itself is so very beautiful with the period features along with the culture pieces of the family who run it . As soon as we arrived it was a smooth process checking in and our room was comfortable, any queries or requests we had were dealt with quickly by very polite and attentive staff. We had only booked 2 days and I wish it had been longer, but I would go back again as our short stay created lovely memories. I can't fault the staff in any way as they made us feel so welcome. I'm actually smiling as I write this because we had such a lovely experience. Food is available on request and the hotel has a very beautiful dining area and bar, very spacious and very welcoming. Well let's talk about the disco room .....we sang and danced all night and the staff put music on for us that adapted to our ages ..lol .....any music requests we had were played.....a special thank you to Akhil Raj for the fab tunes and to Jack for looking after us at the bar all night ..a few hangovers were to be had in the morning . So all I can say is thank you to all the staff for providing a 5 star service for your guests......my faith in humanity was restored knowing that you care about your guests and that we are not just a number. I could go on about every detail of our stay ..I'll stop as this may end up being a book. Hats off to Crown Hotel Stone !

Poor accommodation- the owners need to put their money into this business as it's nothing but tired, dirty in the rooms and bathroom. Heating was on full blaze snd hotwater from the shower was luke warm. The taps and shower heads had scale deposits all over so would hazard a guess the legionella team would have a field day. The parking they say is free yet got charged by the car park owners as the administration system in the hotel didnt work- they wont help and instead have a hefty fine . Poor communication. Expensive price for what it is. Needs investment and poor management with the car park fine. I have read else where online there are lots of people with the same parking fine and the hotel wont help. I travelled for business but would rather not stay here again!
