Burnside Hotel

If possible I think it's good to write a review whilst still here, so as its Boxing day and we have stayed on the Christmas package here goes the review. We are staying for 3 nights on the full Christmas package, we stayed here previously in the summer of 2023 and it has improved on what was already an exemplary experience. The service is superb, Minty welcomed us like family and made us feel immediately welcome, the service throughout is first class from Navneet who serves with a wonderful smile to Valentina who seems to do most things and is superb with guests, all of the staff are brilliant and friendly. The food you just cannot fault, it matters not what you order as whatever it is the chefs produce excellent food..from breakfast to Christmas dinner to steak meals and superb Indian food it is top class. Nothing is too much trouble for the Burnside. The location is perfect for Stratford as via the lane is a very short 15 minute walk, we did it each day and it is so convenient to be out of the hustle and bustle but so easily accessible. The parking feels so secure and gives you complete peace of mind that you can pretty much leave the car until you go home. The addition of the attached new bar next door ( The cask and Tandoor ) is such a good bonus with a lovely vibe. As with the hotel everything is immaculately clean and welcoming. Summarising overall I think the Christmas package is unbeatable but in any case at any time of year The Burnside would be the number 1 choice. Thank you Minty and team.

Stayed for 3 nights the room was lovely couldn’t fault it although the heating was a little iffy radiator not working had to hunt down a member of staff, after half hour it was up and running and then every day there after the same problem. Nice shower room with fluffy towels and a warm towel radiator the shower was an over head with a wand and powerful, although it could of used a clean as the grout was going black with mould, sadly it’s the attention to detail that let it down. Not sure why it’s necessary to charge £5 parking I was the only car there anything to make a buck I guess. As a guest of yours and having paid quite a considerable sum it was totally unnecessary. Breakfast was a major disappointment no cereals or yogurt fruit all the things you would find in a nice B&B were sadly lacking, I ordered the omelette it appeared on its own on a large plate sitting there lost no garnish this yellow green thing folded in half sad doesn’t cover it.

Everything about this Hotel was lovely, the rooms, including bathroom, were big. The overall decor of the Hotel was to a very high standard and the staff service was extremely friendly and efficient. The food was lovely with a good choice for breakfast and a varied menu for the evening - all cooked beautifully. We don't understand the reason for the £5 parking charge but it wasn't a deal breaker - it was nice to be able to leave the car and walk into the town centre. A lot of thought and care has been put into the renovation and we will definitely return

We postponed our October wedding anniversary stay here due to ill health, but we were able to rearrange. A beautifully refurbished hotel so clean, well furnished & welcoming. A special mention for Valentina for her friendly, attentive service at breakfast.

I’ll start with the pluses. The room was very nice and the staff were lovely. The dinner on our first evening was really nice. The location was 20 minute walk from Stratford. The minuses were what let it down for us. £5 per day to park in an empty car park was ridiculous. If you want an extra £5 add it to the room price to stop everyone complaining. The shower grout could have done with a bit of bleach We booked bed & breakfast there is a set menu. We could either have cooked breakfast or continental! I’ve never stayed anywhere B&B where you can’t have cereals or fruit before your full English. The bread and the sausages were low quality. The omelette was small and with nothing else on the plate. I asked for fruit / yoghurt before my omelette and was told I’d have to pay an additional £15 One afternoon I asked for a scone. Even though the hotel does have scones they would only sell me one if I bought afternoon tea. Like the breakfast so inflexible! Tbh staff who delivered these messages looked embarrassed The hotel is lacking in character.

Stayed 2 nights at the Burnside Hotel and was very impressed with the spacious room (number 8) that we were given. Hotel is clean and modern and the staff are very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. I had forgotten a usb charger for my phone and one was found that I could use throughout our stay. The Cask and Tandoor next door was a great place to get together for drinks and meals. The cooked breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Would recommend and hope to return.
