The Green Man Boutique Hotel

Arrived with no room number so could not get in. Phone number rang inside the pub which was closed. Waiting 1hrs and luckily got a reply via an email I found on Facebook to get in. No soap or shampoo, dispensers empty and rusting. Shower plug blocked so water not able to drain away. Not very clean. Very noisy all night, plus people coming and going all night long.

We arrived 20th December, the pub had a private function, if we had known would not have booked. No food and miles from anywhere. Very noisy till late. An awful night’s stay. On top of that could not unlock door to get out in the morning, so lucky to get a member of staff, had to throw key out of window to open from other side

Let's just say I will not stay here again.... The restaurant's food left a lot to be desired, not good very at all. They do not do any breakfast. I had no hot water for 2 days, yes 2 days! On the positive side, the staff (1 person - Barman - waiter - cook) was a very pleasant guy.

We were unable to check in until 5pm despite the booking confirmation and the website saying check-in was from 3pm. No one answered either the mobile or the landline numbers for the hotel so we were left wondering what to do. At this point we were thinking if we'd been scammed. No check-in instructions sent via text/WhatsApp as the sign says near the hotel rooms. We came back at 5pm after sitting in the car for 2 hours and spoke with staff in the pub which took awhile even then to get anyone's attention. The room itself is small, the bed was clean but very very soft mattress depending on your preference and only 1 pillow each. The bathroom was tiny, the sink even smaller and the bathroom smelled of damp and was generally unclean. No bath matt to stand on and only 1 towel provided each. No hot water in the shower whatsoever but hot water to the sink? The building is very old and creaks all the time, not ideal if you're needing to rest before a flight. A couple came in at 1am, slammed the door and due to the thin walls we could hear absolutely everything... We chose to stay here because of the free parking but I would suggest going elsewhere for a better stay / service even if you do have to pay £6-£10 extra to park. There are other options nearby for a similar price. Quite easily the worst hotel stay we've ever had!

Booked a table here for 1pm with friends. By 1.35 the table that had sat empty since we’d arrived had still not been cleared. Once we further requested to sit at our table it was eventually cleared. We waited around over an hour for our food to arrive. 4 out of 7 of us received our meal. After about 10 minutes we asked about the remaining meals and were met by a blank face, to then be asked what we’d ordered! The 3 people without a meal had to re order their food and were told it would be 10 minutes…after about half an hour it arrived. Food was ok ish, although one of the burgers didn’t have the salad and cheese as advertised and the bun was still partially frozen. No one appeared to be in a rush with anything and were largely unapologetic for the wait with food and for the missing 3 meals. Appalling service, food was unappetising and inside the pub it was FREEZING! Especially the toilets - Baltic! My friend said my lips looked blue by the time we left! Taps in the toilets aim outwards so you get soaked and water goes all over the floor. There is nothing boutique about this place, far from it. The worst outing we’ve all had in years!!! I would not recommend to anyone.
