Hôtel Les Grillons

Stayed 3 nights on half board. Delicious evening meals (7:30 - 8:30 pm arrival for seating) made by chef/co-owner include 4 course dinner with cheese plus ordinary buffet breakfast. (All dinner drinks are extra.) Lunch is available at additional charge. Our top floor room (2nd floor) had a lovely view of the lake, but no balcony; no 2nd floor rooms have a balcony, & I don't think 1st floor rooms have a lake view, but they mostly have balconies. As much as I love a balcony, I'd still choose the 2nd floor for the lake view. My corner room was furthest from the pool, so no pool view. Room was plain but adequate (no art on walls), but spectacular mountain views out of 2 sides made up for bare walls. Grounds are spacious grass & trees with movable loungers set up on grass. English spoken by some staff.

This was my second visit to Les Grillons, and it was just as wonderful as the first. The rooms are very nice, with renovated bathrooms, comfortable beds, and views that do not quit. The dinners are delicious and elegant. Out of 21 dishes (7 meals), one dessert and one appetizer were the best I have ever had. Every other dish was good, very good, or fantastic. There are endless outdoor activities in the area, and the scenery is absolutely stunning. I will be back! Book well in advance.

Thank you so much for our lovely stay in your wonderful hotel. We have never enjoyed our food in a hotel as much, and what also added to our experience was the friendliness and professionalism of all the staff. The grounds of the hotel and the pool were beautifully kept and the location close to the lake and the.mountains is excellent. All in all, Les Grillons is a very memorable experience.

A very comfortable hotel, however unacceptably poor management of a gluten free dietary requirement. Despite being issued at check-in with a card to display on our dining table (which highlighted gluten free requirement to waiting staff) 5 out of the 7 evening meals served contained gluten. Thankfully our own awareness and diligence identified this and serious illness was avoided. Inadequate communication between front of house staff and the kitchen appeared to be the root cause. A real shame because the food was actually very good when corrected but it completely ruined our hotel experience given the repeated offending.

Les Grillons is an exceptional family run hotel with a staff who are so friendly, professional and helpful. We enjoyed a fabulous four course meal every evening, prepared by the chef, Steve who is part of the lovely family. Our bedroom overlooking the lake was just perfect...very quiet and so comfortable. We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Our 2nd trip to Hotel Grillons as it was so fabulous the first time around. It certainly didn't disappoint. Wonderful staff, the cleanest of rooms & communal areas, exquisite food in the evening & good breakfast range too. The setting is sublime with views over the lake & mountains. It's a truly magical spot & exceptional value for money. As per our fist review, this is far more than a 3-star hotel! It gets 5-stars for us! Special thanks to the cleaner of our room who was wonderfully friendly & adored seeing our little doggy each day. She was a credit to the hotel and our room was always spotless. Thankyou once again for a magical break...

We have just had our 3rd visit to Les Grillons and were disappointed when we heard that Sebastian and Aurelie were no longer involved in the hotel. However Steven and Laurie have taken over the helm very well. Everyone we came across who had never stayed before were so complementary about the delicious food. Our room, no. 29, was very comfortable with the most amazing lake views. All staff in the hotel were just lovely and the service by everyone was faultless. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the food was delicious. Keep up the good work Steve and Laurie and we hope to see you when we visit for a 4th time at some stage.

I have just returned from a coach company holiday / tour with Parrys International (from the UK) which stayed at this beautiful hotel for five nights. A truly fabulous hotel which is located overlooking Lake Annecy, and the mountain range. Staff at the hotel were so friendly and helpful. Rooms are fantastic, the grounds delightful, and as for the food....OMG, a real delight with wonderfully tasteful cuisine served each evening. A true delight! Hope to return to relive this beautiful experience. Thank you so much.

We stayed in a Courtyard View Room at Les Grillons in July. The room was an adequate size with a wardrobe area which was separated by an internal door and a large bathroom with a separate toilet. The room had a safe, a small fridge, a full length mirror and a hairdryer. The air conditioning was both quiet and efficient. The room had a view over the car park, towards the mountains that surround Lake Annecy. The room was kept very clean. Our only criticism was the lack of storage space, especially for guests staying for more than just a few days. We felt that a set of drawers for storing small items of clothing and other bits and bobs, would have been far more useful than the table which was in our room. There were sufficient socket points in the room. We stayed on a half board basis. Breakfasts were continental with a few extras, so in addition to croissants, pastries, breads and meats/cheeses, there was yogurt and granola, fruit, boiled eggs and pancakes. Anyone expecting bacon, sausages and fried eggs would be disappointed. The hotel also provided packed lunches. These could be ordered the night before if you required one the next day. The evening meal consisted of 4 courses, a starter, main course, cheese course and dessert. The main course wasn’t huge but the 4 courses were filling. Food was innovative and of a high standard although occasionally there may have been one ingredient too many. Desserts were especially good. We would have preferred a choice of dishes although guests could request something different if they did not like or had an aversion to any particular ingredient. The drinks menu included a wide variety of wines, starting at 22 euros a bottle (although half bottles were cheaper), going up to wines costing over 100 euros. There was an indoor restaurant but when the weather was reasonable it was possible to eat at one of the outside tables which was really nice on a warm night. The only downside was that smoking was permitted in the outside area and some guests allowed their smoke to drift to other tables while people were eating. Also, the hotel allows dogs and there were several in the outside eating area although we only saw one in the inside restaurant. We also saw one guest allow his dog to urinate in the grounds of the hotel in an area where children played. All staff were friendly and most spoke reasonable English. We didn’t use the pool but it looked inviting and was popular with some guests. The grounds were nice and there was plenty of car parking. The hotel is situated in Angon, at the end of the bus route. The bus starting point is just a few minutes’ walk if using the hotel’s rear gate. Buses were free to use in July and August. The hotel is also about 5 minutes’ walk from the pier for the lake boat which sails from Annecy three times a day. Angon was alright as a location but not as attractive as Talloires, Menthon St Bernard and Duingt. Les Grillons is a clean hotel with good food
