Gerard's "Backpackers" Roomstay No Children Adults Only

A very nice place to stay . The family are very friendly . When I was searching for a cab to go to the busstation the owner offered to bring me . That was so nice ! You can easily walk to the busstation but with my suitcase it was difficult. It is 10 minutes walk or so going down to the center. You have a very beautiful view on the terrace . The only thing but they can’t do anything about it , is that the bed felt wet . Not really wet but bc of the humidity. Also a very clean place .

Had a wonderful stay at Gerard’s. The apartment was clean, well maintained and had a lovely view. There was plenty of space and was incredibly well-priced! We were also able to arrange a Land Rover tour of Cameron Highlands which was very enjoyable. Would highly recommend.

I felt a bit violated by this place, especially after paying a 130 euro (700 ringgets) for three nights which is very much a non backpackers rate, the Heritage next door is cheaper and it looks less run down. The hotel style declared is budget, this is way out of budget for any local backpackers so I feel a little bit exploited because I though by paying extra the standard will be high which sadly wasn't the case. I am not actually sure what they are trying to achieve here, because the atmosphere is very much a guesthouse vibe, there are no facilities apart from common area with a TV and a garden. hey do not provide toiletries, the kitchen is badly equipped, there is mouldy smell in my room and there is mould in the bathroom, zero internal or external insulation (you can hear people urinate above you), there is no free fresh water, you have to pay for the bottled water and there is just nothing to do in 1km radius, you have to walk back to town. What justifies the cost???

We stayed for 3 nights at Gerard's place with Jay as a delightful host. The stay was so relaxing and spacious with a kitchen and cozy living room and even an outside terrace. Jay gave us plenty information about which trails we can do and even brought us to the busstation when we left. She definitely was the highlight of our stay!

Wat een top guesthouse!! De gedeelde ruimtes (keuken, woonkamer en badkamers) zijn altijd keurig schoon, netjes en bevatten alles wat je nodig hebt. Ook de kamers zien er goed uit en bevatten een fijne ventilator die we eigenlijk weinig nodig hebben gehad. Het guesthouse ligt op loopafstand van het centrum van Tanah rata wat erg aangenaam was. Daar bovenop is Jay de perfecte host! Ze is een enorm lieve gastvrije vrouw die altijd voor je klaar staat om vragen over de omgeving te beantwoorden of andere handige tips te geven. Zeker een aanrader!

Un joli endroit et une propriétaire particulièrement accueillante et serviable Jae parle quelques mots de français mais elle sait aussi et surtout tenir ses chambres . Service type maison d'hôtes sans aucun reproche à faire. A recommander sans hésiter
