We were there for 2 weeks and Lazy Acres was by far the best value in Hervey Bay. It has access via a boom gate which was great for security. We stayed in Cabin 7B, we only got 1 key which was a bit of a pain, when I asked for another key (we were 3 people coming and going) the lady in the office said no, we could leave our key at the office and then the next one had to come and pick it up, then leave it again when they went out etc, which was a bit of a bother for us so we made other plans. Laundry: washing machine and dryer both need 4 x $1 coins and there is no change machine, keep this in mind if you're going to want to do some washing. A word of warning about Cabin 7 is that 7A (the disabled accessible unit) and 7B (also called the carer's unit) is one cabin, the 2 areas area divided by a paper thin wall and normal door (not fire proof/sound proof) so you are very much at the mercy of your neighbour whether you will have a peaceful night or not. We could feel them walking (the cabin vibrated) and their footsteps thumped, we could hear them in the shower, washing their dishes and hear their TV when it was loud. Bearing this in mind we were very quiet, taking into consideration they could hear our every move too. Internal wall between the 2 bedrooms of Cabin 7B is also very thin and I could hear the bed creaking in the main bedroom every time the other occupant rolled over in bed. Maybe it needs a new bed. Cabin 7B was much better than in the photographs we saw online, which was a pleasant surprise. It has 3 plates/cups/cutlery and nice pots and pans. Small oven, gas cooktop. Nice big fridge. Good aircon and nice deck to sit on. The only bathroom/toilet is off the main bedroom, so whoever is sleeping in the single room needs to go through the main bedroom to use the toilet at night. Just something to keep in mind as it may not be suitable for everyone. The play area is non-existent with tape cordoning it off. I presume they are going to redo it. I would stay there again, but not in Cabin 7 due to the close proximity to the neighbours, but Cabin 7 is ideal for a larger family due to the interconnectedness. Lovely permanent residents - most of them are happy to stop and chat, I got to know one of them quite well over our stay and will miss them.
