Spinifex Motel and Serviced Apartments

We have stayed here before and as such had no hesitation in staying her again but this time the stay was disappointing. The room was amazing, king bed, quite comfy and plenty of room and a sink with microwave, kettle and toaster as well as a table, 2 chairs and a settee to relax on. All utensils were supplied and coffee and accompaniments were kept in the fridge. We were downstairs so the was a small secluded seating area at the back of our room. The shower was good and hot but there was only 1 tiny soap to use. My issue was with the wifi and the food. The wifi kept dropping out - probably because it couldn’t take the use it was getting from all guests. But it’s frustrating when you are trying to use it. In the end we jumped our phones as we needed to use our devices for business. As for the food. That’s just the pits. It was a very small menu to select from, and it would seem some things were packet purchased and just deep fried. Neither of us wanted fries just salad and that was so small we needed to put on our glasses to see it. 1 very small cherry tomato cut in 1/2 about 12 English spinach leaves and a lucky dip find of cucumber. There was a store bought scoop full of coleslaw and an empty area where the chips would have been - judging by other plates we saw. No dessert- none on the menu so we couldn’t even top up with that. We could not get a gin and tonic either. They had no gin. Previous stays have not shown this sort of mediocre menu. The lady seemed to be doing it all - cooking, serving, taking orders and cleaning the tables. I assume she also did the dishes. After that we went back to our room for raisin toast and a coffee. This is a great place to stay for room quality but find somewhere else to eat.

Can’t thank Management enough. Service is amazing. Rooms are very modern, clean and comfortable. They are pet friendly and very accomodating with my little dog. Amazing food in the restaurant after a hard days work, and so nice to see their friendly faces each day. Thanks guys for making my stay so great.

A great place to stay whilst on business in Mount Isa. Large clean and comfortable room. Good meals. Kath and John are great hosts. Very welcoming and up for a good laugh. Thanks for making my stay homely .

Kathy, John and the crew at Spinifex Mt Isa makes awesome look ordinary, this place is above fantastic. Nothing is an issue, best place to stay in Mt Isa. This is always my first pick when in Mt Isa, rooms clean, beds comfortable, just an all round superb place to stay.

A Good quality Motel which is fairly New. Very roomy compared to most Motel rooms. Good for Couples Travelling. The Management are very obliging and helped us get the best out of our tour to Mount ISA. This motel is known to the courtesy drivers of the Irish Club and The Buffs Club. A mere 10 Minutes easy Stroll to the information Centre where all the Tours etc are done from.

Beautiful property. Clean spacious rooms with excellent facilities. Travelling for work and it was a perfect base. Excellent service with friendly staff, nothing to fault. Will certainly be back. Very peaceful with lovely well maintained gardens. Very affordable laundry facilities
