My wife and i recently stayed at hotel raj darshan, udaipur and were excited to relax in my room for a vacation unfortunately, we had booked the room for 3 nights but my experience was marred by a strong, overpowering polish smell in the room. The moment we walked in the hotel it had some pesticide smell, and as soon as we walked in the room we were hit with a pungent, chemical-like odor that seemed to be coming from the furniture. We tried to ignore it, but the smell was persistent and gave us a headache and my wife got breathless by the night. We raised the complaint to the manager n they did offer to change the room but the issue persisted even in the new room. We again pointed the issue to the manager n he said u are the only coustomer who has an issue and ther is nothing they could do about it. We asked for a refund so we could change the room so they we can ask make my trip for the refund so then they could cancel our other two nights. We tried to connect with coustomer care of make my trip but they haven't yet responded to our issue! the room itself was clean and comfortable, with a cozy bed and modern amenities. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the location was convenient. However, the polish smell was a major letdown. We had been looking forward to a restful stay, but the odor made it difficult to unwind. I hope the hotel takes steps to address this issue. Perhaps a deeper cleaning and airing out the polish smell by keeping the windows n doors open. And till the smell is completely out, they should not accept the booking from guests. Also there should be some good air diffusers and essential oils that they need to use to make the experience a bit better and use of air purifiers to eliminate the smells and dust. Until then, i would caution others about the potential for a strong chemical odor in the rooms.
