I would have given this hotel a five star rating but for what happened Friday night. The room was clean and updated, as was the facility in general. Very nice continental breakfast, comfy beds, and the room had a surprisingly sized fridge, we actually fit quite a bit of food and beverages. Late Friday night, there was apparently a bunch of folks who checked in after having attended a birthday party, in the room right above ours. They were loud and it sounded like wrestlers were over our heads, and we could not get to sleep (it was past 10pm). I called the front desk and the girl on duty said she would speak to them. The rowdiness upstairs continued. I went to the front desk and told the girl the noise had not stopped (same one I spoke to on the phone) and the girl gave me a harsh stare after telling me she already spoke to them; when I asked to switch us to a different room she said she could not as the hotel was booked. She offered no other solution, no apology for any inconvenience, etc., and kept staring at me. I went back to my room and did not know what to do, as the noise continued. My husband also called the front desk but nothing changed, so he got dressed and went to the front desk and spoke to her again. I suppose the "big guy" who was at the front desk (I did not see him) finally addressed the situation as then afterwards the noise finally subsided and we were finally able to fall off asleep after midnight. I'm not sure why the girl at the front desk stared at me like that, like I was the problem, after I expressed that the raucousness upstairs (screaming, thumping, loudness) was preventing us from sleeping. Very poor customer service, to say the least (I used to work in customer service). If I had not been with my husband and my son I would have left this hotel after the way the noise incident was handled and how I was treated. At least Saturday night was quiet, and the Sunday morning staff were friendly.
