Hotel Ad Hoc Carmen

Woken up every morning EARLY to the sound of cleaners shouting outside my room, and constantly dragging heavy furniture along the floor repeatedly. Throwing bin bags up against my door. Unsure why this started so early as my room would not be turned until 4pm. Cleaners do not lock the doors after cleaning the room even though I specifically requested this. The walls are paper thin I could hear the people next to me dropping things on the floor, plugging their charger in, screaming at eachother. Absolutely impossible place to relax. Bedlam.

Perfect location. A taxi from the airport cost us €20. 3 minute walk to get to the main square (playa virgen) where there’s a couple of bars but if you carry on walking through it leads to lots more. The hotel is clean and pretty. Our room had an upstairs bedroom too but the stairs were a little risky and I wouldn’t have liked my son to be with us but for us they were fine. Rooms are perfectly suited for what you need and you get shower gel etc included in the bathroom. Reception is available 24h a day and they are very helpful. People have said the hotel is noisy…I didn’t find it a problem at all. Beds are comfy. Only downside is the air con doesn’t quite work to its fullest and struggles to cool the room down as it is a big room. It didn’t hinder our sleep too much though and we soon got over it, just would’ve been a little bit better if it worked 100%. Definitely worth staying here though purely for the location and cleanliness of the hotel.

To start with, the Hotel staff was great. Very helpful, friendly and supportive. Thank you!! Said that, even the best staffing and greatest location of a hotel is not able to rock it if the hotel itself does not meet basic standards. I clearly missed hygenic standards. The Towels in the bathroom were so old and „done“ that it felt disgusting using them. The shower was full of mold. After 2 days of our stay the cleaning ladies tried to get rid of, with limited success. Those things need to get done regularly! The bed was shaking and moved with every single movement. Never had such a low budget bed. We tried to avoid moving during the night. The comfort of the bed is personal taste, but clearly not met mine. The hotel was extremely loud and we could hear each word of our neighbors. They were not speaking loud, however the hotel walls are so thin. The entire hotel building is from the 15th century and the mentioned areas seems to meet the same decade, which is a petty, as if tge would invest some more love to detail on above areas + the nice staffing they already have, the hotel could easily a great place to be.

Great little hotel in a prime location. Really can’t fault this place. The family room was spread over two floors with a bed, wardrobe and bathroom on one floor and then upstairs a bedroom, large balcony (very safe) , bathroom and large landing area with pull out bunk beds. The stairs are quite steep in the room. Reception were extremely helpful. We’d usually stay in a big 4 star hotel but the best locations are the little hotels in the old town. This is a great choice.

This hotel is in a great location! It is less than 5 minutes to Plaza de la Virgen and the Valencia Cathedral is very close to that as well. The rooms are comfortable and the staff is friendly. They have someone at the desk 24/7 which is nice in the event that you have a late arrival. Rooms have semi-comfortable beds and have A/C which was a nice feature. For the price and location, you can not go wrong.

The location, in the Old Town, is just perfect, walking distance to everything that I wanted. 24 hour reception with helpful staff who speak great English. The room is clean, comfortable, and basic; no hairdryer etc. but I knew that and didn't want one! Free soaps, shower gels etc. though. You can hire a bike through reception, delivered to the hotel for you. I would most definitely return to this hotel and recommend it 100%. Fyi only English TV Channels are DMAX and Disney, in case you were coming with children.

Habitaciones algo pequeñas y que necesitan renovación. Cama cómoda pero la limpieza no es la mejor. El baño es sin duda lo peor de la habitación. Hotel solo para dormir, pero con un precio caro que no es acorde a lo que obtienes. La ubicación es lo mejor. Conocemos el otro ad hoc de Valencia, y nos gustó más.

La scelta di questo hotel si è rivelata perfetta, in quanto è al centro della città. IL personale della reception è cordiale e disponibile. Le camere sono pulite e gli asciugamani del bagno vengono sostituiti ogni giorno. Le camere non sono molto grandi ma per 4 notti andavano bene. A mio avvisi l'unica cosa che mancava era un armadio. Ci siamo trovati molto bene anche nel bar ( Panaria) convenzionato con l'hotel .

Sono molto soddisfatta della scelta di questo hotel a Valencia. abbiamo preso il taxi all'aeroporto e con 20 € ci ha portato direttamente davanti alla porta dell'hotel. Avevamo prenotato una camera doppia, e abbiamo avuta una quadrupla visto che avevamo il soppalco con altri due letti oltre a quello matrimoniale. La posizione centrale lo rende perfetto per girare a piedi in ogni angolo della città. L'armadio era a vista e lo abbiamo usato principalmente per i giacchetti perché per 4 gg non abbiamo tolto molto dalla valigia. Tutte le ragazze alla reception sono state cordiali e molto carine, ci hanno prenotato loro il taxi per il ritorno in aeroporto la mattina alle 6.30. Il bar dove facevamo colazione con lo sconto del 10% dell'hotel è vicinissimo, ha molta scelta tra dolce e salato ed era uno dei pochi bar in cui abbiamo bevuto un caffè ristretto come si deve. Siamo stati molto soddisfatti della scelta!
