My friend and I booked this holiday as an early 50th birthday celebration. We flew direct with Virgin and were greeted at Male airport by the cocogiri rep. We had to wait an hour for our boat transfer but he made sure that we were shown to an area with air conditioning and food and drink to purchase. The time went quickly as we were taken aback by the amazing surroundings outside the airport. After an hour wait we were taken to our boat. Our luggage was stored and we were helped onto the boat, given water and life jackets. It was a great way to arrive at our destination. When we arrived at Cocogiri, we were welcomed by smiling staff, given fruit punch and cold towels our luggage was taken to our rooms and we were checked in quickly. For 4 nights we stayed in a beach villa. It was very clean, spacious and opened out onto the beach. It was well equipped, the bed was comfy and the terrace was lovely with 2 sunbeds and a swinging egg chair that was so comfortable. For the other 3 nights we spent in a water villa. We really got the best of both worlds. This villa was a little more spacious but equally wonderful. We were overwhelmed by our surroundings we spent many hours staring at the sea, the sky and the fish. We snorkelled and saw so many different fish, turtles, eels and rays the coral reef is beautiful. There is a dive centre at the resort that offers watersports, we went kayaking and had a go on the sofa ride which was great fun. We also went on the shark and turtle trip which was such a fantastic experience. The staff at the dive centre were lovely, really friendly and always checking you felt safe and enjoying yourself. Rio the yellow parakeet would hang out there and if you were lucky come and say hello. The food was good there was a lot of choice so you wouldn't go hungry. I had the curry most nights as it was delicious. The waiting staff were fantastic, they couldn't do enough for you, always there to clear away your plates or bring you another drink. They were extremely friendly and made you feel very welcome. I must mention Mukesh and Vinod who were lovely, great fun and really hardworking. The 4 guys in the bar were lovely too. Gowtham and Vinnie I'm sorry I don't know the others names. The resort manager Tina was great, always approachable and on hand to answer any queries. She was very visible and there to help the guests. The girls on reception were lovely too and like all the staff went above and beyond to make the stay enjoyable. We both had a massage which was a wonderfully relaxing experience. The resort is small and quiet but extremely friendly if you want to party every night and be surrounded by a lot of people this is not the resort for you, but if you want peace, tranquility, amazing scenery, beautiful nature and a chance to reset this is definitely the place for you. I would definitely go back.
