Room clean and comfortable. Staff attentive and friendly. Meal was lovely and customer service from Will was outstanding I would recommend this hotel. We are staying here for a wedding and the place is just perfect for a wedding. Would definitely recommend this hotel

The hotel is comfortable and clean, and the beds are nice and hard. The hotel, bar and waiting staff are great. Millie in the restaurant dealt well with a very disappointing meal. If this review was just for the hotel and bar/restaurant service, it would be 5*. The food is poor, inadequately microwaved, with several substandard ingredients. It was a shame the kitchen staff microwaved a replacement for one very cold dish to the other extreme of inedible. The cooked breakfasts also suffered from the same problems of poor ingredients and inattentive microwave operators. As for the very lumpy hollandaise sauce… There is a rat problem surrounding the buildings and current measures aren’t making enough of a difference.

On saturday 20th enjoyed a Milestone Party,thats 2 birthdays and Wedding aniversary rolled into one,The room was very pleasant and the food provided was very good,such a selection,both hot and cold,We enjoyed our own private bar that was run by a lovely fella called Tom,he always had a smile and a few words for all,he is a credit to the Holmefield Arms,I will be shortly be celebrating a milestone birthdayand wouldnt hesitate to book this venue.

This is a great hotel, leafy back drop, comfortable rooms and great food available at the pub with nice beer garden however …… if you’re staying in the summer months I would absolutely check if there are any weddings on ! We’ve stayed here a few times but loud music up until midnight did not make for a good nights sleep :-(

We recently held our Wedding reception here and the attention we received from the Events team was amazing. The marquee at the back is suitable for 100+ people, and with a lovely hot and cold buffet the experience was fantastic. Well done Laura and team, as well as Craig the on site DJ, who was brilliant in the evening. There’s a hotel with 40+ rooms as well as a lovely beer garden and playground.

Absolutely brilliant service provided by Holly for a 50th surprise party! Lovely, polite and highly professional server with high level of patience for a large group booking.

Had a lovely lunch today in the Holmfield! Served by angela, she was brilliant, very attentive with my fussy eating and so warm and welcoming! My dads fish he thoroughly enjoyed! Just a lovely meal. Will definitely be back :) Nia xxx

Excellent cleaning staff.My husband and I walk in Thornes Park quite often and always call in for a coffee.As expected after walking for a while and drinking coffee, I need to use the toilet.I have to say the toilets are spotless and smell fresh as soon as you open the door.Many people compliment bar/waiting staff, but the cleaning ladies are out of sight, out of mind.They do a fantastic job and are rarely given credit where it’s due.Too many people are quick to find faults to moan about, but not many compliment a fresh clean toilet.

Absolutely Disgraceful and unprofessional from the start. I initially Took an extra stay in wakefield and I was familiar with the Holmfield arms and Hotel , I booked through *********** And paid £80 for 1 night with no breakfast added . I was not informed that they would be music Playing at the premises on the night I stayed. It was not included within the booking conditions. I was informed when got to the reception. They gave me a room infront of the marquee. Constantly banging bass from 730pm till 11pm .on my way to the hotel reception there was a heap of rat traps scattered all over I saw at least 3 big rats near reception area .I know it's near a park but not good . The general manager was being very personal and not even offered a discount or meal vouchers of some instance They would not give a refund. They lied and assumed I had dealings of a business engagement there ,Absolutely appalling Please think before you go They are owned by Greene King. Very expensive and terrible service and very greedy
