This was my second time staying at this hotel. After checking in, I noticed that the fan/heating/AC was not working. It had power but the fan would not come on. I went back to the desk, to report this problem, and the desk clerk said to give the unit some time to start working. I suggested that she might have someone come look at it, but she did not offer to do that. I went our for coffee and to get some things to drink for room. It took about an hour. I had left the unit with the fan at the highest (3) level. It was still not working. I went back to desk, to see about having someone take a look, my original suggestion. A technician came by 5 minutes later, took off the thermostat, cleaned the connections and replaced it. The fan stated working. He then mentioned to me that because of a pump/maintenance problem, there was no AC avaialble in any of the rooms. So I managed with the ran on, and the window open. or closed, depending on the temperature of the room.
The next day, I overheard a converstaion with one of the desk clerks who was responding by phone to a guest. The guest was complaining about their AC not working. I heard the guest offering to move this guest to another room "on the thrid floor". So it's difficult to tell just who is incompetent, lying or just not aware of what is going on in their hotel. It shows a lack of professionalism, and perhaps even dishonestly. Either way I cetainly don't appreciate the lack of sufficient concern for your guests, and possibly just being lied to. Not what I expected for over $100/night USD. Next time, I'll find another hotel in this part of Warsaw (just north of the Stare Miasto). Richard Matuszczak
