Facility is nice but kind of a sterile atmosphere. No contact with host or agent since it's self checkin. Free parking is nice. About 1.5 miles from city center, so you need to drive to get there. Two things really bothered me. First, the lock and key to the room were extraordinarily difficult to operate. Plus, if you lock your door at night (as most guests would certainly do), you need to use the key to open it. What if there was a fire? Second, the bed had a heavy duvet (nice) but no sheet between the duvet and me, even though I asked for one after the first night. The duvet was heavy and very hot, but I can't sleep without something covering me. Result? Three very hot nights, even with the window open. I expect more in a place like this. Would not go back for those reasons.

My night here was awful - the room had a very unpleasant odor, the carpets were dirty, there were spiders on the walls and ceiling, and I could hear the person in the next room snoring all night. There was no one available at the B&B and you needed to get your key in a lockbox with a code that they sent via a text or email. It was dark inside and felt unsafe. There is no breakfast included, so you need to go into town which gets crowded and is difficult to find parking. Then, to a add insult to injury, I noticed upon my return home that they had charged me twice for the room (which they did reverse when I told them). I had booked due to the high ratings, but I was very disappointed. I am amazed that this was a tripadvisor travelers choice award hotel.

We found this B&B was in a good location for driving into Westport from the north, arriving late it was very easy to find and no issues with parking. Easy access if driving onto Achill Island the next day too. The room was a good size, the bed very comfortable and clean. We didn't meet the owners, but they left the key out in a lockbox for us. There is no breakfast included.

I had a very bad experience staying here. There was an agressive and unsafe atmosphere in the building. I genuinely felt unsafe here. I would never recommend this place to anyone. There is no on site management of the building so you are really not able to readily contact anyone during your stay in my opinion.

Great location only a short walk/drive from the centre of Westport. Also only a stones throw from Westport House & Adventure Centre. Very clean bedroom/bathroom - bed was very comfortable. Only reason for not giving 5/5 was, we could hear every footstep and most of the conversation from the people staying in the room above us. Walls seemed quite thin. Wouldn't rule out booking here though again.

We stayed at Woodside Lodge for two nights in September during a real hot spell in Ireland. The room was comfortable and the location quite. Westport is quite a large town and so it was good to be a 15 minute walk away so we weren't bothered by noise. Breakfast was a stand out; cooked by Patrice, (a French gentleman). He also gave us some great travel tips. Helen was also very friendly. Thanks very much to you both for making our stay wonderful.

Fabulous place! Very welcoming and comfortable house, room and beds, exceptionally good breakfast with a vast selection, very friendly, fun and helpful hosts, all in a beautiful house! Would never stay anywhere else in this area!!

A beautiful, tranquil slice of paradise, just a short walk from the bustling and historic town center of Westport. It also sits along the scenic 43 km Great Western Greenway hiking and biking trail. This is the B & B jewel you are always looking for. The rooms are clean and cozy and the breakfast is delicious and offers many options. The owners have vast knowledge of useful local travel information.

We had a lovely stay in Woodside Lodge last weekend. Just a few minutes away from Westport town. The bedroom was so spacious & clean and the bed was very comfortable. The breakfast on both mornings was to such a high standard. Helens homemade apricot and cranberry scones were a real treat and granola bowl was full of fruit and so colourful. Patrice’s omelette was also simply delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return the next time we visit Westport. Vicky & Cathal
