Holiday Inn Express Winston-Salem Medical Ctr Area

The breakfast was great. The rooms were comfortable. The fire alarm was somehow accidentally activated which automatically disabled the elevator. We just sat at the pool until the fire department arrived to reset the alarm. We walked to the Harris teeter & Walgreens for exercise. It’s a safe area to walk. We arrived 9/8/2024 & left on 9/11/2024.

This was our 1st stay and will not be our last. We needed a place to stay on our way to the beach and glad we chose this place. It was in a great location to start with plenty of businesses in the area. There was plenty of well lit parking and the lobby and whole hotel very clean. The check in process was easy and helpful with our questions. The room was spacious and clean. I would stay here again on our next visit.

This was an excellent hotel for my husband and I when we were in town for his medical study. Very clean and our room with king bed and all the amenities was perfect for us. The staff was professional and friendly. Cleaning crew very conscientious and kept the hotel in excellent cleanly condition. I’d like to recognize staff member ‘Swiff’ who kept stairwell, lobby and breakfast area extremely clean. He would always say “I won’t let you down!” It’s obvious staff wants to please!

I booked a hotel stay at the holiday inn in Winston Salem for 6 days with Priceline. However when there I received word of a close relative death out of state. Quite naturally I was emotionally distraught and wanted to be with my loved one children/other family. I spoke with hotel staff regarding situation and was directed to check out and my return would be processed as I had only been there for 2 days. Under the hotel staff direction I did just that. Shortly later I contacted Priceline and explained what happened. Only to be told that my refund wouldn’t be honored despite me already checking out at the direction of the HOTEL STAFF. I spoke with Karen whom is a Priceline assistant who stated that my refund wouldn’t be honored. I explained to her again at the direction of the HOTEL STAFF that I would receive a refund on remaining days. Per Karen she reached out to Steve at the Winston Salem Holiday Inn location and was aware of the situation however won’t honor refund. This is particularly concerning as staff gave me misleading info. Also this is disheartening as I went through all of the appropriate channels and it feels as a slap in the face while I am grieving especially in the face of these brittle economic times. I have booked with Priceline numerous times as well as have stayed at this particular location as well which is why I chose this location.

We were at Baptist hospital for an emergency surgery for our mom and it was 1am and we hadn’t even thought of a place to stay when the surgeon recommended this hotel. I called and spoke with Zachary who was so incredibly helpful with booking us a room. He informed us of the discount for patients/families. Upon arrival, he greeted us with kindness and hospitality while we were stressed, worried and sleep deprived. Our family ended up staying 3 nights and we’re grateful for the proximity to the hospital (walking distance if desired) and for a clean, comfortable and affordable stay.

We traveled from Canada to visit with my brother who was in hospital in Winston-Salem, terminally ill. We picked this hotel because it was within 5 minutes walking distance to the hospital. Sadly my brother passed away. This was an extremely stressful time and when we left the hotel we forgot some of our clothing which was left in a drawer. The next day I returned to the hotel and the day after that one, asking about my clothing which consisted of 3 under wear, 3 bras, 4 pairs of socks and 3 tops. Each time the hotel manager informed me that housekeeping did not find my clothing. When I suggested that the housekeeper would have seen these items as soon as she opened the drawer when cleaning the room, the manager was quick to point out that since the clothing was not in lost and found, that it was my fault, not theirs. The attitude of the hotel manager was cold, disrespectful and she seemed disinterested in helping me to recover my clothing missing from their hotel. Given our experience, we would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

The newly remodeled Holiday Inn Express on Miller Street had great service, clean rooms & a perfect location. Appreciated being across the street from Whole Foods, and Salem Kitchens, home of those great Moravian chicken pies. Also appreciated being near the interstate, and other major roads to get anywhere in Winston-Salem quickly. This made a great weekend in Winston even better.

Looks like newly renovated hotel with good service desk. The best part is location - many food options and nearby grocery store. Parking is good size, Smokers were treated well in this hotel with small separate garden behind the hotel. Almost 5 starts from me.

I had a situation with my equipment. They were not delivered to the hotel as they stated in the app. So Summer and the Manager helped me. Long story short they heard me and got into action, excellent!
