Courtyard Reading Wyomissing

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here Aug. 8-10. Our room #326 was spotless and well equipped. We very much appreciated the front desk associate accommodating our early check in. The bartender Thursday night (sorry, forgot his name) was friendly and made great drinks. We will definitely stay here again when we're in the area.

I’ve stayed at Courtyards over 200 times and I have always been greeted when I walk into the hotel, but that didn’t happen at this Courtyard. We were totally ignored by 3 different ladies at the desk when we entered. The bistro was advertised to be open at 5 o’clock, but was told they didn’t have a chef so it isn’t going to be open. The HOT tub was COLD and unusable. To the general manager who always says how sorry she is for poor service, I would appreciate a partial refund and not an apology, thank you. I am usually a positive person, but was so dissatisfied the I feel compelled to let you know our disappointment.

Very friendly service, was lucky enough to run into the cleaning staff twice on trips to the ice machine, she was so welcoming and kind. The bed was very comfortable and not too plush. Pillows so plush and linens/towels fresh and clean scent. The shower pressure was to-die-for and roomy in size. My hair was so voluminous afterwards. Luggage rack in the closet and easy to find light switches.

The Marriott Courtyard in Reading is in a good location and in general one would expect Marriott service and quality... unfortunately it does fall short. The hotel does NOT have it's Bistro operational, which leads it to be very quiet in the evening - if one is lucky there are some people at the bar but other than that it's rather quiet. Breakfast is NOT included, and the breakfast service is hit or miss - unfortunately their espresso machine didn't only break once during my stays and also overall the menu and prices are not making this a place to plan for and enjoy breakfast. The rooms are rather dated but kept in ok shape, heating/cooling is provided by the so often seen wall units - with limited efficiency and comfort, the showers all leak into the bathroom floors and many show signs of mold in the caulking. The workspace in the rooms is ok but not that comfortable - some rooms have a pull-out desk under the workspace, which makes a difference. In general the internet service is ok but sadly only is reliable via WiFi - the wired option is again a hit or miss. Room service isn't reliable, they offer room service every other day unless daily room service is explicitly requested by the guest at check-in... that doesn't mean your request is received by the room service team. It is also inconsitent as there were room service days where our room had a cleaned bathroom but the bed was not made, drinking cups were not refilled and the ice bucket not cleaned (still contained the plastic bag and melted ice).

I don’t typically stay in Marriott properties but this one was not a favorite. I stayed for a wedding I was attending, the lobby is nice and the rooms are spacious but that bathroom was out of this world. Mold on the ceiling, shower head had massive buildup and was rusty, water came out with difficulty, the tub had stains and the tiles had mildew. Attention to detail within housekeeping is clearly lacking.

This is the most poorly maintained Courtyard I've stayed at in quite some time. Surprising for such a newer/modern property in a nice area. Management, engineering/maintenance, and housekeeping are a complete Fail based on this visit. The bathroom was downright gross & disgusting (see pictures). The hallway carpets were full of debris and hadn't been vacuumed for I don't know how many days. The elevator hadn't been wiped down in weeks or months. And the air con/heat unit in the room made so much noise that it was immediately apparent it hadn't been serviced in eons. Those are but a few examples of a hotel that has seen much better days for sure. The management of this property should really be ashamed of themselves. And if they post a response/comment to this review, please don't tell me that it's due to pending renovations. There is NO excuse for such poor maintenance, filthy bathrooms, dirty common spaces, and thus a senior management team that is, to put it nicely, "struggling". How could so many things be wrong all at once? On the positive side, the hotel is nearby to several interesting eateries of all kinds that you can walk to (most between 10-20 minutes). I also found the morning Bistro staff very welcoming and helpful. But those are the only two good things about my stay and I won't be returning.

The Courtyard in Reading, Pennsylvania is clean, quiet and friendly. We needed the computers before checkout and the extra checkout time was so accommodating! Most hotels have 11 am checkout. The location is just off of Penn Avenue with great restaurants.

We stopped here for one night since it was a halfway point. We preferred this area to downtown Reading because it was quieter and we could walk to many restaurants. There is also a gas station and a McDonalds across the street which was convenient in the morning as we didn’t purchase the hotel breakfast. The hotel was very nice and updated, the associate at the front desk was friendly and efficient, and the area was very safe and cute like a little village. I enjoyed reading the historic plaques around the old mill complex.

We stayed at The Courtyard Marriott when we attended a Barry Manilow concert. The staff were very friendly and the hotel was very clean. They had a fire pit area outside, a nice fitness center and a pool. I would highly recommend them and would stay there again.
