This hotel is superb. It’s very clean, food is plentiful and beautifully presented. If you don’t want anything from the set menu, there is a vast choice at the buffet. It’s about 4 mins walk in ski shoes to the lifts. There’s the Tauren spa on the other side of town which I originally wanted to go to. Then I visited the hotel pool. This hotel has a fabulous pool open between 7:00-21:00. As I don’t ski, I generally had the pool to myself. You can hire a bathrobe for €7/week. Also, there’s a huge tv on the wall! The ambient lighting is just right. Around the pool are lots of sun loungers. The view from the pool is spectacular. I’ve stayed in a few hotels and don’t bother writing reviews. This hotel is brilliant. Staff are very polite and helpful.

One word AMAZING!! This was our first Ski holiday (2 adults & 1 Teen). The hotel is first class. Staff are incredible, friendly and cant do enough to help you. The hotel is 3 minute walk from 3 ski lift taking you to different slopes. The ski school and a nice warm up blue slope are beside the ski lifts. The hotel is is very traditional but this for me is a absolute positive, its not trying to be something else and is what it is, which is fantastic. Pool area is very good with views of the mountains, 3 different saunas to choose from which is what was needed after a full day of skiing. Food - Buffet breakfast always great with plenty of selection from hot food to cereal. Evening meals were also great with a meat dish, fish dish or vegetarian dish to choose from and also the buffet was available which always had a quality selection. Snacks available from 3-5pm everyday. The skiing was very good with a variety of different slopes. Some tricky red slopes and a difficult black slope taking you all the way back to the ski lifts. Overall This hotel and location was fantastic and we will be booking back up for 2025.

Had a fantastic week in this hotel with my family (two adults and two teens). Staff are so friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean, warm and cosy. Love the tea and cakes available everyday at 3pm. Plenty of food options for everyone. Two minute walk to the slopes. Room spacious, clean and comfortable. Easy bus to town every 15 mins, which takes less than 10 minutes. Used the pool and sauna most days. Would highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful food, lovely people and fabulous skiing. For dinner last night the kids buffet had tomohawk steak! The pool is lovely and sauna. About 50metres from the ski lift and kids lessons. They were lovely too. We are booking for next year.

A fabulous traditional hotel, a few minutes walk to several cable cars and lift. Few minutes to bus stop which serves all lifts and town of Zell am See which is a fair walk down to.Exceptional staff, modern clea rooms and incredible pool and saunas. Food has been plentiful and varied. Would definitely like to return. Only down side is lack of proper bar area/lounge for apres ski, pre dinner drinks.

If you’re looking for a hotel to stay in Zell am See then look no further. We are a very well travelled couple and have never stayed in such a welcoming hotel before. It felt like we were staying at a very hospitable friend’s house that just happens to be right next to the main lift up the mountain. The food was exceptional all week and with the lunch (which is described as “snacks” but there was always a great hot meal on offer) and hot drinks all included, the only thing left to pay for was alcoholic drinks. You won’t find better value. We liked picking the evening meal at breakfast so we could look forward to it all day. Everything on offer is well thought out. It’s obvious the family have been improving the hotel each year and they’ve got to the point now where everything is so refined. All the staff were very friendly and attentive, they clearly enjoyed working there and worked well as a team. The place was spotless. They heard it was my birthday and brought out a cake during the evening meal then also found a channel for me to watch my football team play. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the shower was superb too with underfloor heating in the bathroom. The boot room had heated shelves and was conveniently located on the way out. Finally, a massive thank you to Conny who is an amazing person and great manager. She goes above and beyond for every guest and is no doubt a big reason why many of the guests we spoke to were return visitors, some had been returning for years. We are now considering a summer visit because of how much we enjoyed it,

Once again my wife and I visited the Daxer, and once again we had a fantastic stay Conny and Michael run a great family-run hotel nothing is too much trouble for them and their great attentive staff, the rooms are as good as ever warm and comfortable, we slept with the door/window open, breakfast has a very good selection hot and cold, evening meals were great either buffet or choose of the daily menu in the morning good selection, tea /coffee/cold soft drinks all day and evening,200 meters from ski /mountain lifts, although the ski runs were limited due to last week of the ski season, the bus runs every 20 minutes down and up to the ski lifts, until 6 pm. The Daxer is so relaxing, with no traffic, no parties, and quiet, even with the school children who were there the same week as us, highly recommend this hotel, it is everything you would want for on a holiday to Zell am See, we have been going there(Daxer) for I believe 6 or 7 years sometimes twice a year summer and winter. we will be going back hopefully later in the year when the New pool and sauna which was in mid-construction while we were there will be finished, even have an ATM on site Look for this hotel you won't be disappointed

Stayed here late march 2024 with Tui/Crystal and the locality to the lifts and area of zell was fantastic. 5 min walk to the lift and ski hire shop. Room on the second floor was to a high standard with fairly new and fully functioning facilities, decor was good. My grown up kids had a similar room to a good standard. Late checkin was smooth and they had kept the buffet open late for us which was helpful. The food as mentioned in previous posts was plentiful but a little dull (beigey) and a bit tasteless. There was however a good salad bar. Breakfast was as per usual in Austria. Deserts were limited with a help yourself ice cream bar, sometimes supervised (by teachers thankfully) but also sticky kids fingers all over it. (Go for the pre wrapped cornettos) to avoid sticky handles. Afternoon cakes plentiful. Staff all friendly and welcoming with the rooms attended to daily and towels replaced if requested. Skiing was good up high as it was late season, lower slopes bare. The link over to Saalbach was open except for one day in high winds when it shut forcing us to catch the service bus back to Zell (30-40 mins) All in all a great hotel base for Zell but hotel could be improved by better food and a lounge area. (They are currently building a new pool area which will be nice) you also have to dodge the naked Austrian/Germans in the saunas.

Travelled with Crystal Ski in March 2024. I have to say I feel like I have visited a different hotel to the earlier reviews but I can assure you I am reviewing the correct hotel. First the positives. The location of the hotel is excellent for access to the slopes in Zell. There is a super boot / ski room in the hotel and a max 5 minute walk in ski boots to the main gondolas. We booked a superior double and our room was on the first floor. The room had a partial view of the lake, a balcony and very comfortable beds with plenty of storage. The water pressure in the shower / basin is poor but there is adequate hot water at all times of day. There is a hotel pool inside but it is very small and dingy. There are no changing facilities nearby. The towels provided in the superior rooms are frankly unacceptable, absolutely tiny, paper thin and rock hard. The room seemed to be serviced every day but they simply folded the same dirty towels and bed linen. Nothing in the room was cleaned all week. There were a number of school parties in the hotel during our stay. The dining room was akin to a school canteen in every way. The food was frankly the worst offering I have ever experienced in Austria and we travel every year. I was super excited about the food based upon previous reviews. Please disregard as the chef must have left. An hour into breakfast service today they had run out of croissants. These were a staple albeit varying degrees of freshness this week. The evening buffet every night is tiresome and poorly presented. The food is cold and unappetising. We try to opt for the fish option every night as this is served fresh to the table. Tonight was breaded cod and chips, it was like eating cardboard. The hotel provided one evening of entertainment all week, live music for 2 hours on a Wednesday night which was excellent. Other than that there is nothing to do, not even a bar area to relax. The nearest bus service to the main town leaves at 0840 which is too late to then transfer to either the bus to the glacier or the ski circus in good time for lifts opening. Bear this in mind especially this late in the season as the snow in Zell was not good for experienced skiers. However, the skiing in Zell is beautiful and the huts are excellent and plentiful on the mountain. Overall a good week but would not recommend this hotel unless the evening ambience and food is not important to you.
