Honestly, staying in a "Floating Residence" is truly the most unique room experience there is. It might not be suitable for long-term living, but it's one-of-a-kind. Fortunately, Dazhi Xianxian, a rare and stylish B&B in Yunnan, has a corporate-style management team. In the two years I've been there, the room maintenance, service, and public area have all been maintained at a high standard, unmatched by most private B&Bs. Because of it, it's become a popular destination for seniors visiting the Luchong scenic area, attracting those who appreciate it."

"On the first day of check-in, the balcony door wouldn't lock. The receptionist said their manager had said none of the doors could be locked. They changed the lock and it was fine. I had a peaceful night, which was alright. The next day, a large cockroach crawled onto the table, so they changed me to a suite. However, the air conditioning wasn't working. The lobby manager gave me a long lecture, but wouldn't admit there was a problem with the air conditioning. In the end, they changed me again. A woman at the front desk had a long face, looking like I owed her money. I was carrying my dog in one arm and pushing a trolley full of luggage with the other, with four hotel staff members with me. None of them helped me push the trolley. Even when I bumped into the wall, no one offered to help. They just kept looking down on me, as if I had gotten a great deal. In the end, the air conditioning was still cold, hovering around 18 or 19 degrees Celsius all night. I really couldn't be bothered with them anymore. The hotel breakfast only consisted of rice noodles, noodles, and eggs, which I could tolerate, but their attitude was appalling. I've been road-tripping for years and stayed in countless hotels and guesthouses, from five-star to four-star to three-star, and this was the worst of all!"
