Bosenkan ★★★★
"Muito longe da estação JR Mas caminhável e ter serviço de transporte de autocarro O jantar e o pequeno-almoço são inesperadamente grandes Ambos gostavam do Hida wagyu tão, muito agradável e sucio o ambiente de quente é autêntico, tradicional e familiar proximidade de atrações são acessíveis"
Yunoshimakan ★★★★
"This might be the highest hot spring hotel in Gero. If you miss the shuttle, it's quite a walk uphill. The hotel is divided into the old wing and the new wing. The old wing has a lot of mosquitoes and poor soundproofing, while the new wing, though newer, lacks some of the old wing's charm. We stayed in the new wing with a private hot spring, but it was extremely small; the photos on Trip.com can be misleading."

"Fomos para Gero PELA segunda vez e gostamos tanto.O hotel é limpo, bonito e TEM um louco interior e exterior:) O pessoal é bonito."
Geroonsen kisoya Kisoya ★★
"This place offers great value for money, with clean and appropriately sized rooms. Plus, there's a convenience store and laundry right next door. The location is fantastic for enjoying Gero; it's not too noisy but also not inconveniently far from anything."
Hotel Kusakabe Armeria ★★★★
"the place is famous, for thailand theater shows, foods in many varieties but cant say good. when we check in we are greet by a front desk clerk, with no smile, and tired face.and since i was a foreigner but good in japanese, communication did not go so well though he is not nice explaning everything. but the foreigners workin there is so nice. the ofuro is good but can say not what we expect. in the morning we check out staff were all good and smiling."
Gero Onsen Yamagataya ★★★★
"O pessoal estava muito bem-vindo, e o círculo privado estava tão bonito que não precisamos deixar a sala para nos divertirmos."
TAOYA Gero ★★★★
"The room does not provide bottled drinking water, which is rare in hotels at this price. The lobby on the first floor provides free soft drinks and alcoholic drinks, but the drink machines will be closed and prohibited after 10 pm. Customers who need drinking water at night can only buy it from the vending machines on each floor of the hotel. The smoking room is about the same size as **, with only two stools and reminders to keep social distance, abstract. During the four consecutive holidays in Japan, only two hot spring hotels in Gero were not fully booked, and they were all his. It seems that there is a reason."
Gensennoyado Yumotokan ★★★

"There are many onsen hotels in Gero, some far more famous than this one. My choice was partly due to the price, but mainly because I wanted to experience a traditional Japanese onsen hotel. This hotel was the most satisfying of the four hotels I stayed at during my self-guided trip to Japan. 1. **Excellent Location**: The hotel is very conveniently located. From JR Gero Station, turn right and walk along the path, then go through an underpass, and you're there. However, navigating the underpass with large luggage was a bit tiring. 2. **Traditional Japanese Onsen Ryokan**: It's a comfortable and welcoming traditional Japanese onsen ryokan. The staff were all very warm and attentive. The lobby on the first floor has a reception, a coffee/tea bar (Photo 2) offering complimentary drinks during specific hours, and a small shop. I arrived at the hotel around 10 AM, before check-in time, so I left my luggage. When I returned around 4 PM to check in, my luggage had already been sent to my room. 3. **Dining**: You can choose your breakfast and dinner times. After confirming, you go to the second-floor restaurant at the designated time. If you don't show up on time, they will call you. Dinner (Photo 6) was very substantial, with fresh ingredients and a wide variety of dishes; I was so full I even skipped dessert. Breakfast was also excellent. I asked the server to introduce each dish according to the menu, otherwise, I wouldn't have known what I was eating. The young, lovely server was very patient, explained everything, and even helped me take photos. 4. **Japanese-style Room**: The Japanese-style room was very spacious and spotlessly clean. It came with a small snack, a hot water kettle, and tea set, so you could make your own tea. 5. **Onsen (Hot Spring Bath)**: There are specific hours for bathing, and you need to bring the towels from your room. The public onsen is on the first floor. The women's bath has one indoor and one outdoor pool. The open-air bath (Photo 9), though without a view, was uncrowded and had excellent water quality. I bathed alone at night and in the morning; it was very quiet. 6. **Hotel Shop & Local Tips**: The small shop in the hotel lobby offers a 10% discount. I bought two Hida Faceless Monkey patterned towels (I bought one for myself when I visited Shirakawa-go in 2020) as souvenirs, and they were cheaper than outside. The proprietress was also very enthusiastic and recommended I take the bus (100 yen) to Gassho Village because it's an uphill walk, and I could easily walk back downhill. The hotel also sells Gassho Village tickets for 700 yen, which is 100 yen cheaper than buying them on site. 7. **Minor Drawback**: The only minor issue I found was that the bathhouse doesn't provide towels. After using the towels from your room, you have to bring them back and hang them to dry on the rack in your room (provided by the hotel). The next morning, you either have to reuse them or pay for a new set."

Gero Onsen Fugaku
"I traveled a long way from Nagoya and took many buses to Gero, staying at a 4,000-a-night hotel. The hotel was dated. From the front desk to the staff, everyone was an *******. They were all rambling and boasting. I repeatedly confirmed that the room was a bathroom with a river view. Upon arrival, they said they didn't have that type of room, even though they did. You can say it's full or that the reservation was wrong, but as a hotel employee, you can't boast. The food was also very low-quality, not comparable to Izu. The room was also very low-quality. I will never stay again. A very bad experience."
Hotel Miki
"Se você gosta de natureza e de Vida tranquila para se acalmar e relaxar com o ursinho, é o Melhor Lugar para passar seus dias. Um desgraçado é que você não Pode tomar banho no SEU quarto, porque não há banheiro."

"This appears to be a family-run business with warm hearted hospitality. The hosts didn’t speak much English but we managed to use a digital translator to communicate. Am grateful the hotel provides free shuttle pick up from Hida Osaka Train station. We had to get our previous hotel to ring Senyukan to inform them about the expected timing of our train arrival. We appreciate the immense patience of the hotel shuttle driver. She put up with 2 changes of timing of our train arrival because of significant delays from the Highway bus from Nagoya to Takayama where we had to connect to Hida Osaka Train station. We had booked to stay 3 nights and loved every moment of the stay. The kaiseki Hida Beef dinner had the perfect balance of sweet/sour/ salty taste. Each dinner also had a cooked fish either grilled, steamed or poached, in addition to sashimi ( raw seafood). The soup was exquisitely flavourful as was the freshly prepared salad and tempura ( deep fried vegetable fritters). All the food items were plated with pleasing artistry. We had booked the hotel for its hotsprings which lived up to their therapeutic reputation. Although the sex-segregated pools were for hotel guests, we found ourselves often the only ones who used them at the time. Highly recommend this hotel for its affordability and wonderful value-added hospitality. The only downside of the hotel is that the wifi signal is not always stable in the guest rooms. But wifi is more accessible from the hotel lobby."

"Superb ryokan"
Nohohon Park Hida-Osaka (Formerly Hida Osaka Fureai-No-Mori Campground)
"We were able to relax as a family in a log cabin surrounded by nature. Since it's a log cabin or bungalow, there's no need to set up a tent, which is a great advantage for families with small children. The cooking area is covered, so it's safe even on rainy days, and there are plenty of rental items available, so you can come empty-handed. There are insects depending on the season, but that's part of the fun of being able to play freely in nature. There were also simple activities that could be done in between other activities, which made for a valuable experience for the children. Highly recommended for first-time families!"
Gero Springs Hotel
"The hotel is a short distance away from the lively Gero area via a mountain road. It is more suitable for self-driving travelers. Although the room decoration is old, it is generally clean. There is a private bath, decorated in the style of a Showa family bathhouse. PS: Please note that the check-out time is 10:00 AM. There will be a penalty of 1,500 yen for every 30 minutes beyond that."
Sasara
"Nice service! And the dinner is good. The room is clean and comfortable!"
Hida Kanayama Nukumori no Sato Onsen
"The hotel doesn't have many rooms, but the hot springs are very comfortable. There's a restaurant on site with delicious food, and the surrounding environment is beautiful, right next to a stream. The staff are also very attentive in explaining the hotel information. I recommend staying here."
