"This is the first time I'm extremely, extremely, extremely dissatisfied with a hotel during my nationwide travels. 1. The hotel had a room type that met my needs but refused to accommodate it. 2. The staff swiped my card and let me into the room without even explaining it to me. First, arriving in Northwest China, and during summer vacation, hotel prices have already gone through the roof. It's truly unacceptable for tourists to be slapped with such high prices after paying exorbitant rates. I booked the Mercure Golmud Hotel a day in advance and requested a quiet room on the top floor on the Ctrip app. Upon arrival, the front desk staff directly checked me in through the self-service check-in machine (the hotel listed the 15th floor as the highest floor on Ctrip). My gentle communication with the front desk staff was fruitless, so I insisted on being moved to the 15th floor. I was told it was fully booked. Okay, so what was the point of making a reservation a day in advance? If it was fully booked, why didn't they call to let me know there were no suitable rooms? The most interesting part came later. The front desk staff was furious when they saw me and backed off. Two so-called supervisors arrived and eventually told us we could move to the 15th floor. We heard that this room was reserved for someone with connections, and they gave us the 15th floor on the assumption that "people with connections would be understanding and easy to talk to." Upon going up, we discovered the 15th floor wasn't fully booked either. The room was clean and the soundproofing was acceptable, so we extended our stay. I hadn't considered giving your hotel a bad review until the next day. I was working on my computer in the room when I heard a hurried knock on the door. I was only wearing a workout tank top, and before I could change, the door was opened. A cleaning staff member, accompanied by a man, swiftly entered the room. The man arrived in his leather shoes, without shoe covers. He also brought an air purifier and began installing it. Amidst the chaos, they told me they had called yesterday, but no one answered. First, I didn't receive any calls yesterday. This phone was only used for travel and hotel reservations. I didn't use my work phone while traveling, so there were no missed calls. Second, was the room phone just for decoration? Given that your hotel's room rates are relatively high in the area, is it appropriate for someone to intrude on your room in such an inappropriate, disrespectful, and unethical manner, violating public order and morals? Who is responsible for the guests' personal safety? After installing the air purifier, the entire fifteenth floor was filled with a very strong paint smell, which caused me to have a headache all day due to the lack of oxygen at high altitude. "First off, the hotel room was incredibly clean and tidy, and the in-room amenities were excellent. There was 24-hour continuous oxygen supply and a permanent humidifier – not one of those small, flimsy ones, but a large, clean, fixed unit. Now for the main point: a huge, huge thank you to our butler, Tashi. We arrived at the hotel quite late, and he pre-registered our license plate number, which significantly sped up our check-in process. He also continuously asked if we needed anything and reminded us to be safe on the road. Knowing we were heading to Hoh Xil the next day, Tashi specifically prepared a thermos of hot water for us, which proved incredibly useful during our trip. Our car had a flat tire in Hoh Xil that day, and that hot water was genuinely a lifesaver. The next day, we sent our chartered driver to the hotel to pick up some things for us, and Tashi specially prepared a lot of bottled water and oxygen tanks. He also continued to check in on our well-being and express his concern. Furthermore, when Tashi learned we were Hui Muslims upon check-in, he thoughtfully arranged for halal meals for us. There are so many other details I can't even list them all, and I don't know how to express enough gratitude. I just hope the hotel gives more recognition and rewards to employees who genuinely go above and beyond for their guests! I've stayed in many hotels costing thousands, but I've never encountered such a thoughtful butler, especially not at a hotel that only costs a few hundred."

They didn't provide conditioner for shampooing; hopefully, they can add that. There was a very cute cat outside the supermarket next door. It takes about 50 minutes to get to Qarhan Salt Lake; you have to go in the afternoon when the wind isn't so strong."
