"We liked the nostalgic feel of the hotel. It makes you feel like you have gone back in time. The room is a little bit dated (shower screens need some attention), however it still had that touch of class. The front steps are a killer, however there is a lift to bring you up the level of the hotel, so we didn't have to worry about bringing our heavy suitcases up the many steps. There is a bus station almost out the front of the hotel to tour the mountains many scenic areas. It is not in the shopping area of Kuling Street, but it's an easy bus ride to visit this area. We liked that there are a few restaurants, cafes and convenience stores close to the hotel as well. We were not able to use our foreign credit card and as we could not use WeChat pay, we needed to find another way to pay for the room with assistance from family with a Chinese bank account. I think it was because it is not part of a large chain of hotels and is in a relatively remote area. But overall we enjoyed our stay at this hotel."

"The hotel's biggest feature is its size, suggesting it might be a converted shopping mall! The facilities are relatively new, clean, quiet, and the service is warm. There's underground parking, and the breakfast is plentiful; the front desk even offered a complimentary special pear soup upon arrival. Areas for improvement: 1. The rooms were cold, and the air conditioning wasn't strong enough, which was a noticeable issue; family rooms only include breakfast for two people, with additional meals charged, which is unusual among hotels."
