"Vakara Hôtel Kep — Fantastic! 👍 Clean hotel with spacious rooms, featuring a walk-in closet and a magnificent sea-view balcony. The pool is great. The staff were amazing — especially Sophath, who personally helped us with an excursion to Bokor and tickets to Siem Reap. On the downside, the hotel is difficult to find on Grab, but this is a minor inconvenience. Highly recommended! 👍🏼"

"This was our first trip to Cambodia and had a great experience! After the initial few days in Phnom Penh we went north to Siem Reap and Angkor Wat, finishing off with the last 4 nights down on the coast in Kep, staying at the Knai Bang Chatt. We visited late October, the end of the rainy season, so it was still a bit quiet in terms of tourist numbers. Knai Bang Chatt is a fantastic, small boutique hotel comprising a few old but well renovated villas from the French colonial era and the property runs down to the beach and the Gulf of Thailand. We had a great room with balcony overlooking the sea and the staff could not have been better, helpful at all times. They arranged a couple of trips for us, by tuk-tuk, around the surrounding area including a visit to one of the estates producing the famous Kampot Pepper. We also enjoyed a Kmer cookery class so thanks to Chef Chuon Sokheng and his team for that experience. The hotel itself is only a few minutes walk, or tuk-tuk ride, from the local crab market and the excellent selection of restaurants along the waterfront. We went to the Holy Crab, recommended by the hotel, and had had some excellent food, including the local speciality, Kampot Pepper Crab. Many thanks to all the hotel staff for making the last bit of our Cambodia trip so enjoyable and would recommend a holiday in Cambodia to anybody and, in particular, a stay at the Knai Bang Chatt."

"We had mixed feelings about this hotel, which isn't all that bad. After a tense first contact with the receptionist who wanted to be paid in Dollars or credit card upon arrival, even though we only had Riels, I still asked to see the room before paying. We had the room with a private jacuzzi. It's true that it needs a good renovation, which is a shame because the exterior is cute. We didn't dwell on the stains on the wall; it's Cambodia, after all. What wasn't cool was that our bed base was made of concrete, something we hadn't noticed during the tour. Otherwise, the pool was lovely with a sea view, but the breakfast was average, not very varied, and repetitive."

"A large hotel with not much around it. The staff were helpful and friendly and the Manager spoke good English. The swimming is large, clean and we give it 10/10! The room was spacious and clean. The only downside really was the fact that it was very quiet with only 5 rooms out of a possible 80 were booked during our overnight stay. We only used the hotel for one night as crossing over into Vietnam the following day. As other reviews have said the restaurant does have a canteen feel, unfortunately we were the only ones in it, it the food we had was ok. We feel a bar/lounge would be a welcome and warm addition, although you could order from the restaurant but it lacked in atmosphere. We would stay again if we needed a hotel when passing through Cambodia and Vietnam."

"We just spent three days at Tara Lodge with our yoga group. It's one of my favorite places to stay in Cambodia. Patrick, Jim and the staff provided excellent service and helped us arrange tours and transportation. The food was delicious and fresh. The breakfast omlette was amazing! The rooms are a good size with comfortable beds. The location is walking distance to the Crab Market. We will definately be back!"

"The hotel is set in tropical forest and the nature is spectacular. The pool although quite small is really lovely and the surroundings bring a lot of peace. The hotel staff were very helpful in organising transport. The Lodge was not busy when we arrived so our room was a bit musty in the beginning but this soon improved once we could open the windows. The facilities all worked as expected and I would like to have stayed longer."

"We visit family in Kep and always find it challenging to find accommodations that suit us. Priority is always, finding a room Clean. Last visit our driver suggested this place and it ticked all the boxes! We honestly couldn't believe our luck! Beautiful quiet location. We were shown a variety of rooms. Top floors have balconies with mile long views. Some over the pool, others toward the sea. Not a large staff but some one is always available to help. The husband and wife owners were lovely and very accommodating to any of our needs. The top floor restaurant was not continually open but when given notice they were happy to prepare breakfast for our large family. The kids loved the pool. Staff are out early in the morning and throughout the day keeping the blown leaves out of the way. It was so lovely, that after our family members with children left, we stayed an additional week, to continue the serenity. We booked on site but found the place beautiful, as other satisfied quests photos show. "

"From the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome by the friendly staff. Our rooms were located on the 2nd level overlooking the sea with beautiful sea breeze in the evening and 180 degree view across the bay. The included breakfast provided ample choice with good size helpings. Recommend Tuk Tuk driver Sol was very polite and helpful and also arranged our trip to Rabbit Island. If climbing stairs are a problem suggest requesting a room on level 1"
